Okay, plans have been set for my next two trips - I'm am overdosing on needing a DVC/WDW fix! Someone get me off of the Disney websites! No production here, I'm obsessed:scared: :scared: !!!!!

Whewww, now that I got that out......I had originally planned OKW for three nights with the remaining points I had for this year :goodvibes in Sept for myself and my two cousins, but......after finishing my add on:laughing: I decided to move the ressie to my home resort at BWV. I could only get a preferred view, same goes for the January trip I just planned for my soon to be college students, myself and DH, and some friends.

Question:confused3
What is a preferred view (garden)??? I get that they have broken down the views, and instead of just standard and BW view they added preferred, MS said it's garden or pool. What garden? How far from elevators? I requested close to elevators, with a garden view, where could that be? Just curious, as many times as I've been there I have not seen garden view, unless they are talking about the "green"? TIA

Also, can we use the pool at the Inn side? It's quieter and more spread out than the big pool, sometimes it seems to be quieter than the quiet pool at BW? TIA again

:tink: Hoping for some magic on this trip with my cousins/BFs:tink:

There are two main views for point purposes, preferred and standard. Preferred is about 80% of the resort. Because of its popularity, they decided to make the preferred view rooms on the boardwalk as a separate ressie class that you can lock in at time of ressie. Those are about 15% of the rooms and thus go mainly to those making ressies 11 months out. All the other preferreds, which you will have, are called a pool or garden view. You will overlook either the main pool, the quiet pool, or the lagoon leading to MGM. Close to the elevators would mainly be rooms overlooking the main pool, although it depends on how close they actually put you and you could have mainly a lagoon view if you requested garden. You can use the quiet pool at the Inn side but virtually no one does (even from the Inn side) and because of its location surrounded by room buildings, it is definitely a quiet place. The "green" view of the village green is part of the boardwalk views.

So I am gathering that if I get the lagoon view (I specifically requested garden), it would not be close to the elevators?? As I remember anything close to the elevators was either overlooking the front drive on one side, or the boardwalk on the other side.

The fact that no one use the inn side pool is appealing to me for an adult trip.....quiet - yeahhhhh.

Thanks for your response

Overlooking the valet area (standard view) and some of the boardwalk rooms are very close to the elevators, but many of the main pool view rooms are also very close and the reality is they don't make much distinction between pool and garden so your request for garden view may not make much of a difference as to where you end up.

Most of the Village Green view is considered pool/garden, except for the rooms on the corner with the boardwalk. Those rooms are very close to the elevators. I believe they are all studios. There are also garden view at the very end of the floor, facing the canal, where the DVC offices used to be. The rest of the pool/garden are facing the 2 pools.

There is a "quality matrix" at BWV - rooms that many consider "better" in terms of view and noise (even standard view/preferred view) are the least convienent in terms of elevator access.

For quieter, as for the end of the hall - far from the elevators - that will put you away from noisy Luna Park - the next section is over the community hall/quiet pool - but the quiet pool is not necessarily quiet (but may be preferable for you - a compromise between quiet and walk to the elevators). Ground floor rooms aren't bad because of easy exits outside, but are worse from the view/noise standpoint.

I've had a terrific view of the Village Green from my preferred view studio. It was right over Muscles and Bustles, on the 5th floor. We had a nice view of the lake, the boardwalk and could see IllumiNations high fireworks. The studio was very close to the elevators also...about 3 rooms down from them.
I had a one bedroom villa, again preferred view, on the 5th floor overlooking the quiet pool and Community Hall. Now, that was a long walk from the elevators...about 234 steps. We used the stairs a lot since they were only 2 villas down from us and put us at the very end of BWV right on the walkway to MGM!! Took about 5 mins off our walk to MGM.
If you are in any room not directly over the boardwalk (as well as those few that face the village green at the boardwalk end) and you are not facing the driveway and entrance, then you most likely will have a preferred view.
