We normally stay at the VWL but have decided to try the BWV for the first time this Summer due to our teenagers. My husband is against a BW view so I booked a 2bd luna park view-he thinks it will be a little more quiet. Is this the case? He doesn't want a parking lot view, so I guess standard is out. When I made the reservation they told me they could only put luna park down as a request but I could also get a quiet pool or garden view also? What exactly is that?

Also, are netgrocer and gooding's the only two who deliver groceries to the resorts?

And finally, do they have any place at the BWV where you can get like burgers adn chicken strips on the go like at Roaring Forks in the VWL?

I gues I am so comfortable at the VWL since I know it inside and out that I am a little nervous of the unknown at the BWV. Any feedback from those BWV veterans would be greatly appreciated!!::MinnieMo

hi minniestheone... from my understanding (i have not experienced it first hand), the Luna Park view can be a little noisy when the pool is crowded.

i believe for the quietest view, the Quiet Pool view is very nice. the Quiet Pool at BWV is pretty much like the Quiet Pool at VWL. the Luna Park pool is the theme pool w/ slide, similar to the theme pool at WL's courtyard.

Canal view is overlooking the canal and usually across the canal is the Swan and Dolphin resorts. this is the canal that the Friendship Boats go down to get to MGM Studios.

as for burgers, i would think your best bet is to walk around Crescent Lake to Beaches & Cream at the BC. i don't know about chicken strips... maybe ESPN Club? or the 24hr cafeteria Tubbi's (located in the Dolphin)?

not sure about the groceries delivery question.
hope this helps!

BW doesn't have a fast food place like Roaring Forks. They do have a number of street vendors that you can get a snack from - (Boardwalk To Go has hot dogs and chicken fingers - but the kiosks also seemed to have flaky hours) and there is the Spoodles take out window for pizza (haven't had it myself, but it gets a few complaints, so you may want to be warned)...for breakfast the Boardwalk Bakery (although the line gets long).

The Beach Club is a short walk away, as are the Swan and Dolphin - so you can stroll over there to eat. But we honestly found the back door to Epcot so convenient that I can't imagine looking for chicken fingers at the BW itself!

Where ever you stay, I think you'll find it noisier and faster paced than VWL - which is so laid back! The Boardwalk was busy until late when we were there (but it was baseball playoffs, so I don't know if the line out the door and the whooping and hollering from the ESPN club are the norm, or were special). The fireworks were loud from Illuminations every night until about 9:20. We had a BW View and did find it a little noisy....but I can imagine that Luna Park can be quite noisy as well - especially in the middle of the afternoon. BTW, not everyone finds the BW View noisy - we must be lighter sleepers.

We had a quite pool view on our last visit. It was very nice. I think our kids enjoyed the quite pool and community hall better than Luna Park and keister coaster!
BW has alot of eateries on site, our family favorite was Spoodles. You could get anything there from soup to nuts and is reasonably priced. Flying Fish Cafe is a little more upscale $$ wise but again it's a great dinner experience.
Big River Grill and Brewing work has great specialty Beers and a good menu, for lunch or dinner.
ESPN club is a fun time too. Sports Bar with alot of TV's, videos, and has the bar type foods, also nice arcade.
Boardwalk Bakery is great in the a.m. nice donuts and other bakery items. GOOooood Coffee!

I believe that on my last vacation when I was at ESPN someone came in and picked up an order "to go" at the bar. They have burgers and chicken strips on their menu. Maybe someone else can confirm "to go" ordering from them.

Have a great trip next summer!

We pick up food to go all the time from ESPN Club. It is a nice stop on the way back to the BW rooms from Epcot, I just go to the bar and order while the rest of the family returns to the room. The food is very good.

I had a preferred view and got part of the canal but the majority of my view was the valet parking lot and service vehicle driveway so I don't think your husband would be pleased with this canal/water view room. We were in #4131. I would request "pool view" if I were you Minniestheone.

Just a comment on ESPN take-out. They add a 15% gratuity onto the price. I find that hard to swallow. They food was OK ,sports bar quality.

Actual, I have requested and received this view many times. It can be a little noisy during the day, but if you're in for a nap, just close the doors and its quiet again. Depending upon which wing you stay in, your overall view will change. But it is noce to sit on the balconies and watch all of the families enjoying quality time together.

The quiet pool is just that, usually very quiet. That is also where community hall is.

As for food, the only thing real close is Leaping Horse Libations, which is the pool bar. Sandwiches, dogs, a couple of salads, etc.

Fast or carry-out food options at BWV:

Close:
Leaping Horse Libations
Spoodles window
The hot dog place on the BW (hot dogs, sausage, corn dogs, and now chicken plus fries, and soft drinks)
BoardWalk Bakery (includes a pretty good sub sandwich)
ESPN does carry-out
Big River Grill does carry-out

At the Dolphin:
Tubbi's
Dolphin Fountain (very good burgers, hot dogs, sandwiches, ice cream treats)

At the Y&B Clubs:
Beaches and Cream
