BWV traveling with question.

We are in the planning stages of a trip for the first time with a grandbaby. We are hoping to get a 2BR Boardwalk view for the majority of the group and a studio for the new family. They're thinking they don't want a boarwalk view because of noise and naptime. In a perfect world they could be across the hall at least on the same floor. Any suggestions from anyone who has tried this? We are DVC members.

You can do "traveling with" in your notes for the reservation but there are no guarantees that they will be able to place the two families near each other.

Most importantly, do not book them a standard view studio.

I would suggest not making any other room request except to have a room near your "traveling with" party and indicate that you would be willing to wait for your rooms (possibly forego an opportunity to have your room at an earlier time).

Also, perhaps check out touring plans.com and use their fax service to be very specific about your request.

That being said, we just returned from a 2 studio stay at BWV and made no special effort to be in rooms near each other, but were placed just a few doors apart anyway. I do believe that at some point when modifying the ressies by phone, a CM added the "travel with" to our reservations.

FYI The rooms across the hall from Boardwalk view look at the main (clown) pool. We’ve stayed in a couple of them when we couldn’t get Boardwalk view. I remember the afternoon pool games & activities were very loud, much more of a disturbance to my afternoon nap than the Boardwalk has ever been. YMMV.

From what I can tell, there are, but not a lot of studios. You're more likely to get a dedicated studio down the hall from your 2 bedroom boardwalk view.

All 2 bedrooms at BWV are lockoffs, so there are plenty of studios along that hallway.

Whatever you do, don’t book them into a standard view. They’re about as far from the BW view villas as you can get. So book them either P/G view or BW view and let the Traveling With notation be your only request.

I've done exactly that and been accommodated using the Traveling with notation. There are pool/garden views across the hall from the Boardwalk view rooms. If you are towards the Swan Dolphin end of Boardwalk view then the rooms across from it face the Croquet lawn and are pretty quiet. They do look over the canal used by the boats to DHS and can see ToT and DHS fireworks but they are quite a distance away.

That would be perfect. We are probably in the minority, but we prefer the long walk down the hallway for the quick access to HS and the food options at S & D. Here's crossing our fingers!

I found the "long hallways" and many other common "complaints" completely laughable. Admittedly, we were rather close to the elevators, but I purposely walked the hallways just to experience it. It would be a non-issue for us.

Similarly, I was kind of afraid the walk to DHS would actually be long and my family would be a little ticked at me. Also, not an issue at all. So much closer than I'd imagined.
