We're staying at the BWV for the first time this Fall.

What's the best way to get to MK, MGM and AK?

I know there's a walkway to MGM but is it better to take a boat? Or walk?

Regarding MK, my husband thinks we can walk to Epcot and then take the monorail to MK!!!

I told him that would take forever! We'd be walking from BWV to the back of Epcot. Walk through Epcot to the front entrance.

Take the monorail to the TTC. Take another monorail to MK. That sound rediculous to me! I think my husband wasn't thinking it through or thinks the walk from BWV to Epcot brings you right to the entrance to Epcot...

Anyway, is it just a bus to MK and AK and then walk or boat to MGM?

Thanks!

I think you have the right idea. It would take as long to walk from the BW to where you get on the monorail at EPCOT. Then get off the monorail at the TTC. Then get on another. Way too long. The bus takes 20 minutes. The bad thing is that it is the last pick up after the YC/BC so it is often full at busy times.

MGM is a nice walk. We have beaten the boat on a number of occasions by walking. Depending on where you are at the BW will cut off or add a lot of time. Another option is to cross the bridge to the Swan/Dolphin and board the boat there. It is the last stop before MGM and often has far fewer people in line than are waiting at the BW.

I thought so!

We will have a car so maybe we should drive to MK (TTC)?

Thanks!

When we stay at BWV, we take the boat to MGM, drive to AK. For MK, it depends. If we are going at night when we will be leaving with the crowds, we take the bus. If we are going during the day, we drive and park at the TTC.

Take the bus to the MK... from the Boardwalk, it's a 12 minute ride. As for crowds... if you travel during the morning rush, they should be expected. However, we do rise to meet the demand. Just the other day, we had a 100% efficiency rating. :)

Just back from BWV 3 weeks ago. The bus from BWV to MK took right at 12-13 minutes every trip, once you were aboard. The wait for the bus varied, depending on time of day (and luck).
We walked from the elevators/health club to MGM via straight by the waterslide pool right at 14 minutes. Not fast, not slow, just walking.
MGM back to BWV, took the boat, got off at the Swan, and were ordering lunch at the pizza window on the BW when the boat finally got there. That route probably beat the boat by 3-4 minutes.
Hope that helps.

One small refinement.

The buses take forever to get to the Boardwalk on the return trip.
They call first at the Swan, then Dolphin, Yacht, & Beach before arriving at Boardwalk. They have to loop into each hotel parking lot, drop off passengers and return to the road. Then repeat this for every hotel.

If you aren't too tired from the parks and don't mind a short walk, get off at Swan (the first drop on the Epcot Hotels loop road). Don't go into the lobby, but take the canal path around the end of the hotel then turn right, go over the bridge and you will arrive at BWV long before the bus.

It's only 9-10 mins from Swan to Boardwalk. Not quick, but not that long either.

HOWEVER... it should be noted that during peak times, MK separates S&D from Y/B/BW. Also, DTD separates the BW from the rest.
