Making our first trip home in 17 days, and I have some questions about the studio views at BWV.

We've booked preferred views, but I know that could mean a variety of things.

We plan to fax a request 4 days before arriving, but want to be sure we don't ask for something that isn't available.

What are our options, keeping in mind they are studios?

Specifically, is it possible to get a view of the BW and Spaceship Earth?

Any other "landmarks", like ToT?

Are there studios on all floors, and is the view restricted from lower floors?

Thanks for any help. (I tried a seach, but came up empty. Probably operator error.:D )

Sorry raidermatt I don't have an answer for you but I am interested in finding out the same info. I would also like to know if anyone can tell me where the smoking rooms at BWV are located. Thanks for the great questions, maybe someone can help us out.

All the "smokeing permitted" rooms at Boardwalk Villas are located on the second floor.

Carol- Great thread!

After reading, I have a couple of clarification questions.

It sounds like there are two great types of views (imho):

1- Luna Pool with ToT and S/D.
2- BW with Spaceship Earth.

Are there 4th floor STUDIOS that have these views (or is it only 1BR)?

Do all rooms have balconies?

Based on our desire for one of the two above views, does anyone have any recommendations for specific studio room numbers?

Thanks again...

I can answer a couple of your questions.

Yes, all rooms have balconies - unless they are on the first floor, then they have a patio,

We have had a 4th floor studio with a view of Luna Pool and TOT. Sorry, I don't remember the room number, but from what I understand, it is better to give your preferences (view, floor, smoking/non... ) than ask for a specific room. In the likelyhood that that specific room is already taken when the room assigner gets to your request, they won't know exactly WHY you asked for that room. It's best to let them know what you are wanting and let them come up with what they can. I also understand that rooms are assigned in the order they are reserved (except for medical reasons), so I hope you made your ressies VERY early.

Good Luck!

Studios are available in all views & all floors. They are mixed in with the other room sizes, there is no specific section or floor for each size room.

You can fax to your heart's content, but I don't think that it will make a bit of difference at this late date.

Let's face it. We're not exactly talking here about a view of the Swiss Alps or Grand Tetons. I still find it hard to believe that people worry about the view from their ROOM, when there's soooooooooo much to see and do at WDW:) :) :) . Each to his own. Have a great trip........

In the interest of full disclosure, we always book the Standard View simply to maximize our use of points;) ;) ;) .....

My DH and I have been to the BWV on two occasions in a preferred Studio. On the first trip, we requested Boardwalk view and were given a studio overlooking the lawn and stairs leading up to the lobby area with a "partial" boardwalk view of the bicycle rental place and the boat-loading docks. On the second trip, we requested pool view and had a view overlooking the main pool and refreshment area; no view of Epcot. I would be as specific as possible without asking for a specific room number -- i.e. preferred studio directly over boardwalk/Crescent Lake, and then give a second location if the first isn't available. They do try to accommodate requests.

Thanks for the tips, everyone! I got what I wanted to know and appreciate the help.

Eros, you make some good points. It's just one of those illogical preferences I have and am willing to pay a little extra money/points for. We bought enough points to be able to get preferred view without sacrificing length of trip.

Like I said, I know its not exactly logical, but like you said, to each his own...:D

All that said, its a very small factor in our trip, and we won't sweat it even if we don't get any specific view we ask for. But we thought it wouldn't hurt to ask. We're expecting to have a great time either way.

:D :D :D

Can someone post the Fax number that I can use for room requests at the boardwalk? We are going home for the first time in June and the CM that took our reservation listed some requests that I think I should clarify before we arrive. Can't wait to finally get there!!!!! Also, I know that some of the balcony's are not really great to sit out on as you can't see when you sit down. Am I safe if I request an upper floor? Thanks for your help!

Mickeylover, do you have a standard view or preferred view? The standard views have balconies with the white picket railings that you can see from whether you are sitting down or standing, some of the preferred views over the boardwalk have the solid walls instead of the white railings but I would not refuse one of these rooms, they are some of the best views at BWV. But you are right the higher the floor the better the view.

Thanks for the reply! We are actually staying in a two bedroom preferred view. My mother and I take my four kids ( my dad and dh don't LOVE Disney) so we like to sit on the balcony and just enjoy the evenings with a drink after we get the kids to bed, that's why it's really important for us to just be able to sit, relax, and enjoy the sights of Disney! I'm still looking for the Fax # to send room requests ahead of time if anyone has that. Thanks again!!!

Mickylover6,

I don't know if this is the proper number (i.e. - 'room controller'), but there's a fax number listed in our guidebook for Boardwalk:

407-939-5150
