BWV standard vs perferred. What is the difference and is it worth the extra points/$$ for preferred?

there are two prefered catagories... One is Boardwalk View, the other is Pool/waterview... BWView is nice... I enjoy watching everyone along the Boardwalk... Pool view is nice too... looking out at the SnD and such...

Standard view is, I beleive the rooms that you see while your driving up to the resort. We have this view booked for next week. So I will let you know how we like it.

6 stays at BWV for me and this will be the first Standard view we have booked.

Must say the points used for our stay is LOW LOW LOW! Gotta love that....

on my first 5 trips I got that a view of that silly clown. after that standard view only. I like to save points.

of course I am considering during the preferred view BW. I did that once on the first trip and it was great.

oh I asked for anything expect that pool and for some reason I kept getting that pool.....

The thing to be aware of is that only about 20% of the rooms are Standard View. Another 20% are preferred view - Boardwalk. The remaining 60% of rooms are preferred view. If you want anything other than preferred view, you should try and book as early as possible. It isn't unusual for these to be gone long before the 7 month window opens for non-owners. It isn't unknown for SV rooms to book day by day at eleven months during the very popular seasons.

I booked a standard view and got the far end of the pool...overlooking the trees.

we always get 4/5 stantard studios for the F&WF in OCT every year. This year we only needed 3 so had to cancell 2 way back. We think the SV are great for the pts.

We stayed BWv once and loved it but will only get it when it's just DW and I and yes I think it's worth it. Of course we own there.

I've never stayed in a std. room but we just got back last week from 7 nts. BW view and stayed there last year w/ BW view. We love it!!! We have younger kids so we were usually in by 8:30 or so. We enjoyed sitting on the balcony and could watch fireworks from both MK & Epc. Next year we are not going to have enough pts (we took my mom & brother this year & borrowed for a 2 BR BW view) so we're going to stay @ OKW, I'm worried that we'll really miss the BW atmoshpere.

We choose standards so that we can get more days vacation during the year, plus, we find the view more than acceptable, considering we don't spend a lot of time in the villa.

Preferred views don't cost extra. It's just that standard views are discounted. We stayed in lots of different locales at the BW. I find that all of the rooms are nice and each has its' own uniqueness.

We usually book the Standard Views.. Better value for the cost.. To each their own though...

Had a standard studio last Oct, you could not get farther away from the elevators. Hads view of tennis courts.

We're going to try booking standard view but it will be 7 months out, so I'm thinking we'll probably end up with preferred.

Is it worth requesting a boardwalk/preferred view over a pool/preferred or do they just figure they're all preferred so you take what you get?

What view is best for seeing any fireworks? Also, is the boardwalk view noisy at all?

broadwalk is the better view.

the boardwalk or standard is best for fireworks.

the boardwalk view can be noisy if you kept the balcony door open.
