We are taking my father, for the first time sine he has become disabled. (We have rented a scooter for him to use) and we have requested a handicap room. Does anyone know where the rooms are located?? Are they on the first floor only or are they on each floor???

They are at various locations & on various floors. Last visit my 'disabled' one bedroom unit was on the fifth floor right near to the elevators, overlooking Luna Park.

The elevators are big enough for ECVs.

I believe there are different types of H/P rooms. What kind of accommodations does your dad need? Some H/P rooms are fully adapted and really (IMO) require a w/c in order to be utilized fully. I know a fully adapted room would not suit me. Other rooms have some safety measures. I need grab rails but a roll in shower wouldn't do because I don't have a shower chair and a slippery floor would really be a hazzard. I don't use my ECV in the room. I am sure other more knowledgable folks can answer you but I wanted to let you know there are levels of H/P rooms. However, I don't know how the are assigned. I don't request an H/P room.

Thank you for the response Nanajo1...

My father usually walks with a walker, so we wouldn't need a fully handicap room, just one that would have the grab rails...

So do I need to ask them for a room with grab rails instead of just saying a handicap room???

Thanks
