I'm calling today for our first ever reservation. I'm shooting for a boardwalk view studio or 1 bedroom. If that is not available what are your suggestions? Would you just go with the standard view or stay with a preferred view? What might you request? Thanks for any advice you may have. I'm a little nervous about this reservation.

Are you booking 11 months out?

I'm booking some BWV studios tonight, and hoping for the boardwalk view. I don't anticipate any problems, it's 11 months out for these.

The standard views mostly look at the drive-up Boardwalk entrance, and there are some nice views there. Because they cost fewer points, the SV go fast, like the Boardwalk views. It's a benie of owning at the Boardwalk, you get to decide, fewer points, or wow! views.

Pixie dust for you to get something nice! MS will help you out, don't be nervous.

We are making ressie's for late August. That's about 8 months out. What are my chances for a BW view(studio or 1bdroom?

Another question, my wife would love to stay at the GF. We might stay there a few nights(we have some points to burn). How many months out can I book a few nights at the GF?

If it's 7 months for the GF, should I book BWV for the entire stay then try to get the GF when the time comes?

Thanks again, still nervous.

You can book GF now. I would book it before 12/31, after that you will have to pay a $95 fee.

We just stayed at BWV with a standard view. We were pleasantly surprised. I read it looked at the parking lot. It was a beautiful view of the entrance. We were able to watch Illumination fireworks from our balcony. :woohoo:

I loved our standard view room - we could watch the fireworks every night from Epcot and it had a pretty view of the front entrance.

We generally prefer the Standard View - saves on points and I'm not one who thinks the BWView is "all that." But when we take guests we like the Boardwalk View - and I'd prefer the Boardwalk View over a preferred view if its available - with a Boardwalk View I know what view I'll get - a preferred view could be any number of views at the resort, some of them really not great at all.

But generally speaking, Standard Views go first. So if you can't get a Boardwalk View, you may not have a choice and may need to take the Preferred View.

If you have a choice, I'd take the standard view - views aren't bad at all and the point savings is very nice. (Its more the drive to the front of the resort than the parking lot).

(60% of the resort is Preferred View) the other 40% is pretty evenly divided between Boardwalk View and Standard View).
