We are planning a trip for Oct 2016 to celebrate my 60th birthday and have invited my 2 siblings and their families (includes adult kids and grandkids) for a week. There will be a total of 12 adults, 3 kids (and possibly one infant by then). Our home resort is BVW and we should have about 600 points without borrowing from 2017. Any suggestions on how to divvy the group up? I don't think a grand villa would work because of the bed layouts. I'm thinking of 2 two bedrooms for the siblings and their extended families and perhaps a quiet studio for my husband and I. Unfortunately, we'll probably have to go with standard views.

While I cannot make any suggestions on the room types, I will recommend you have a backup plan on booking standard view rooms. This past fall , when booking for October 2015, I could not get any standard view rooms. I called at 9:00am on this first day I could book (not enough points to "walk a reservation"). I had some transferred points so could not book online and on that particular day the online booking was not working (not sure if that common)so even though I started calling MS at 8:55am , I did not get thru until almost 9:30!! Yes I own at BW and have never had this happen before. It all worked out but not without renting more points from another owner.....I almost had a heart attack while I was waiting for MS to answer the phone....14 friends and family's vacation counting on me to get it done!!

I think your idea of two 2BRs and a studio is a great idea. I would put the families in their own rooms. The kids can hop between the rooms for sleepovers. But you might have to borrow points if not enough standard view villas are available for your October dates. pixiedust:pixiedust:pixiedust: Good luck!

Grand villas at BWV are all Boardwalk View category, so that probably rules them out anyway. No cheap BW view grand villas! :)

I also think the 2 2BR's and a studio would work well...keep in mind that all the 2BRs are lockoffs at that resort. I don't know if that affects the sleeping plans any...by the description you have you will have 5 adults and one or two children in each of the 2BR villas. That'll be a little crowded but I'm sure you'll have fun. I'd definitely be on the web site first thing at the 11 month mark. With the Food & Wine festival that's a primo time for BWV. Good luck!! :)
