Hi everyone,

We are staying at the BWV for the 1st time. We got a villa with a standard view. Are there any room request we can make that are better than others? TIA:thumbsup2

From what I have heard, the longer the walk, the better the view of Epcot and Illuminations. You might request "best fireworks view, if possible?"

I always recommend requesting "an upper floor" for BWV stays. Well, for all stays really. But at Boardwalk, the higher-up you are the:

A) less noise from people above you a/o the boardwalk itself
B) Better firework views

I always request top floor, across from the bus stop, it's a great view. One time I did say "fireworks view" and they tried to put me on the first floor! The front desk cm insisted there were no fireworks views. I said I've had one before. She found a room on the 4th floor and it turned out to be perfect!

Does it get noisy across from the bus stop? We are booking our July 2010 trip this August and I was also wondering about what room requests to make. We will be getting a standard view 1BR. We are new to DVC and to BWV as well. When we were at WDW in July (pre-DVC membership), we stayed at Pop Century and were able to see some fireworks from Epcot from our room's window. My son really loved that and it would be nice for him to see some again from the room, seeing as he will still only be 5 when we go back and my little one will be 3 (the age my big one was this past summer when we went). We will still not be doing much nighttime entertainment, except maybe trying to get in a SpectroMagic show one night at MK. Otherwise it interferes with their regular bedtime too much once you allow for travel time and walking through crowds of people. So seeing it from the villa would be ideal, even if only a little of it! Hey, it was so far away from Pop Century but still so enjoyable and priceless video was taken of my son's reaction!

The bus stop is across the lawn so it's far enough away not to hear it, especially from an upper floor.

Great, thanks!

I know it is still a while until I call this August to book my trip, but I will request a standard view 1BR on the top floor across from the bus stop (with a view of the bus stop). Is this the best thing to say?

Has anyone been able to book standard view at 7 months? I'm sure it's a long shot but some of my points are transferred from SSR and I can't finish booking my trip until the 7 month window.

We booked BWV std view exactly 7 months for Aug 27 to Sept 1 (Thursday to Monday stay). I think it depends on the time of year and the room type.

Just top floor across from the bus stop, no need to mention view.

I got a 1 bedroom once at the end of April at 7 months (I was combining points with a friend who owns BCV).

It's possible, but the odds are not in your favor. More often than not, the standard view units are booked well before the 7 month window opens. But it does happen.

I booked my trip with a standard view at the 7 month window with no problem and we are going during February vacation week. Good luck!:thumbsup2

I shouldn't have a problem getting a standard view 1BR at the 11-month mark right? The trip we are planning will begin on July 18, 2010 and last 10 nights. I know I can't book more than 7 at a time. So the question is...is it better to wait 3 days and then book the whole 10 nights, or book 7 nights at the 11-month mark and call back 3 days later...or...book 7 nights at the 11-month mark and call each day thereafter for 3 days to book the rest? Or if I book 7 nights at the 11-month mark and then wait until the next day would they allow me to book 3 more nights at one time? I would prefer to do the last option...fewer phone calls but securing my room at the 11-month mark. Thanks again! Just wanna make sure we get the most out of our points, and we really want the 1BR for the space! We have 2 small children and it would be nice to just watch a movie with DH in the evening after they go to bed!

I personally don't think you will have a problem getting 1 bedroom SV at the 11 month mark for those dates no matter how you book it.

If you are really worried, do the day by day thing after you have the first 7 nights booked. If it were me, I'd book the first 7, then wait 3 days and add the last 3 nights with one call.

Again, I do not think you need to worry. The summer months just don't fill as quickly as December and the Fall months, and the 1 bedrooms do not book as quickly as the 2 bedrooms and the studios. You'll be fine.

Thanks everyone! So I will request 4th floor across from the bus stop. :thumbsup2

We got very lucky two years ago. We own at BCV and had booked a 1BR, 11 night stay, there for the beginning of August 2007 at the 11 month mark. At 7 months out I was able to switch to a standard view 1BR at BWV. Because it was fewer points we were able to add an extra night. We spent 12 nights in a 1BR at BWV - room 3123. It was an awesome room! It was a corner room. We had a small balcony off the bedroom from which we could see TOT and we had another balcony that ran the length of the kitchen/living room and we could see Illuminations from here. The living room had the new sleeper sofa and plenty of room for our twin sized Aerobed. We had a stairway across the hall from our door that led down to a quiet pool, Community Hall and the walkway to MGM on one side and a walkway to the parking lot and bus stop on the other side. We loved the location. I had read posts about these rooms and was thrilled to be put in one. I would definitely ask for this room if we were to stay at BWV again.

Hope you have good luck like we did :)

REALLY depends on when you want to be there. We booked right at 7 months for week of July 4th we wanted prefered good thing cause there was no Standard at that mark, but again depends on travel dates.pirate:

I'll be different - I prefer low floors nearer to the lobby.

At the Boardwalk, the higher up you are and the better the fireworks view is - the farther you are from the elevators - and the pool. We have kids who grow gills - convenience to the theme pool (kids prefer Luna Park to the community pool) outranks being able to see bits and pieces of Illuminations. There aren't really any great views of Illuminations at the Boardwalk - since much of it happens close to the lake and the buildings block it. Low floors make taking the stairs possible (we don't travel with strollers, but four flights is too many after a long day on our feet) and get us to the pool quickly.
