DW and I leave next week for the land of the mouse, and we need some advice for a room recommendation. We are staying in a studio and had to get preferred view. So 2 questions:
What does Preffered view get us as apposed to standard view?
We like the view of the boardwalk and cresent lake, can we gat any room numbers to request to get that veiw?

The view of Boardwalk and Crescent Lake is called "Boardwalk View" and is a guaranteed view that has to be reserved when the reservation is made. When you made your ressie it may have already been sold out - the rooms with that view arew limited and in demand. Anyway, if your ressie does not state "Boardwalk View" in writing you won't get it. It is not a view that can be requested after the fact.

mikesmom is correct, Boardwalk View is a specific reservation view and my guess is you have the Preferred Water/Canal view. This means you will have a nice view of the main pool, the quiet pool or the Swan/Dolphin and canal. All are very nice views, and I'm sure you'll enjoy whichever one you are assigned. Have a great trip! :)

I have a picture of the swan/dolphin view from our trip last week. I'll post it a little bit later...busy at the moment

I just returned from my first stay at the Boardwalk. Like you, I had a ressie for a Preferred View studio. I read on these boards that you can request a view of the Village Green above Wyland Gallery and may get a room with some views of the lake and boardwalk area looking toward ESPN. I took the chance and requested non-smoking, view of Village Green above Wyland, high floor. I was so thrilled when I open our balcony door and saw this:

Our room number was 5055.

We were also able to see some of Illuminations from our balcony.
