BWV Pref non BW view location

Hello all, I will have a preferred room but I did not ask for a BW view. My question is, should I request anywhere specific at check-in for my room location. My only request when booking was near the elevators. Does that request pretty much determine where I'll be already, or is there still room to choose a certain view while being close to the elevator? One of my favorite non-BW views is about 2 doors down from the elevator area. It looks out on the Village Green, right about Muscles and Bustles. It's a studio, but there are other types in the same general area. You have a decent view of the boardwalk as well. I've actually had the same room twice now...without requesting it. I just request an upper floor, somewhat close to the elevators.

I always make a request while booking, for the pool view with the room
number. We like the top floor and any room from 5050 to 5060 they are near the elevators.

What size room did you reserve? Most of the ones facing the Village Green are studios.

It's actually a separate reservation, not a request. So you'd have to call and rebook, not just request.

Dean is correct. BW view is NOT a request, it's a seperate booking category. You can't request it. A preferred view can be the pools, the waterways, etc. Standard view is also a seperate booking category (less points) and probably a view of the parking lot. Hope that helps!

We booked a preferred room on our last trip and didn't make any requests ahead of time. We ended up in a first floor pool view room, which I thought I was going to hate since I usually request an upper floor. It turned out to be my favorite room yet! Even though it was by the main pool, there was enough of a distance between the pool and our room that we still had a sense of privacy and noise was never a problem. It was so convenient to be right by the pool. We could keep an eye on the pool area from our villa, and get down there just at the right time to get our perfect location. Also, it was actually closer to go back to our room to use the bathroom than it was to use the bathrooms near the pool. I would be thrilled if I could get the exact same room every trip!

So since I can't get the BW view, would it be worth my while to stay on a higher floor or the ground level? Also do all of the higher floors have a balcony? I stayed on the ground floor right by the main pool before and loved it. Thanks again for all the wonderful input! Sean

We found the ground floor to be a wonderful thing with kids who were in and out of the pool all the time. But they do lack some of the privacy of being a little higher up (i.e. people walking by can see straight into your room if you don't have the curtains pulled).
