BWV Pool

We just found out that BWV main pool will be closed for our January trip. They are saying they will shuttle us to BCV. Does anyone know how they will do this?

Not a clue, but it's a pretty easy walk from BWV going towards the YC side of SAB.

I agree, unless you have special needs, I think walking over to BCV would be much easier than being shuttled.

A few years back when they were working on the BW main pool, we just walked down to the dock & there was a pontoon boat that would take us over..but walking wouldn't take long.....enjoy the SAB

Glad someone started this thread.

We're booked for pool/garden view. DH is totally stressed that we will be looking into some nasty construction and that it could be loud. I figure they are just emptying the pool and painting.

Need some opinions....

Thought about calling to request high floor. Any other request suggestions?
We might also just check availability at BCV.

I/We probably don't plan to swim. It's more of a view/pleasure thing for DH.

The main themed pool for BCV is the same as the main pool for YC/BC. The "shuttle" is the boat that goes to the Studios which stops at the YC/BC dock after pick up at BW. The boat, when there is one there, is a lot faster than walking.

As to avoiding looking at the main pool refurb while at BWV, you should put in a request for quiet pool view, which pool will be open and you won't see anything going on at main pool from your room.

It's the main Luna Pool that will be closed. Are there two pools in that area? It's hard to tell on maps.

I realize, they are just requests, but if I request quiet pool view, and get it, I won't see Luna Pool at all?

Just making sure. I think it will be easier to make a request than change resorts.

Yes, the quiet pool has a lot of rooms that overlook it and none of them will see anything going on at the main pool. Though requests are not guaranteed, asking for quiet pool view gives a better chance of getting it than requesting elsewhere both because there are a lot of rooms around the quiet pool and because it is not the most requested area because the rooms are located furthest from the elevators.

When does this start? This is the first I've heard about it. We'll be at BWV 11/28 to 12/5.

On a side question about the pools, are there towels available at the pools? Just want to avoid packing my beach towels if possible.

One year when BC pool was being refurbished they had a golf cart type shuttle over to the BW pool. That's probably what they will do in this case too.

Here's hoping for some hot weather in January, so we can try SAB!
