We (11 of us are booking 2 studios and a 1 bed) are going next April and we were wondering what standard point view would be the best to request?

I reserved standard on my trip this past April and we were happily upgraded to a pool view so I didn't get to experience the standard room.

My first thoughts are:

5th floor and close to elevators but are there any other requests that I should note?

How did you like your standard point rooms?

Thanks so much!:wizard:

Standard views closest to elevators will be closest to part where there's covered driveway/valet stand/ME drop off/pick up at BWV/BWI lobby entrance. Some have posted it tends to be noisey because of guests in&out of their cars, luggage carts, etc. I can't say for certain because we've always requested furthest from elevators by canal/walkway to parking lots ( this is at end of building facing area where there is bridge over little canal that separates parking lots from rest of BWV's driveway leading to lobby entrance. There is a entrance door here that will open with your keycard and there's a stairwell which is more convenient to villas located at this end and door on otherside of stairwell will lead to quiet pool & community hall area too. Standard view rooms located here will be more convenient to bus stop & parking areas.

:goodvibes

Because you've reserved three rooms, you might be better off requesting three rooms near each other (and on the same floor), instead of being too concerned about an exact floor and location. (What if they could only satisfy the location/floor request for one of the three rooms?)

Yesterland has an article with examples of views from DVC rooms, including Standard View at Boardwalk. The article is at http://www.yesterland.com/views.html

The rooms that are further from the elevator have better views, and they have less noise from the hallway and from busses, cars, and cabs loading and unloading outside.

The rooms that are closer to the elevator are... closer to the elevator. They don't require long walks down the long hallway.

thank you!

I was going to sign up for grand gatherings (since we are more than 10 people). I have done that for a large group before and we were all on the same floor, very close together. I HOPE we can do that again.

Where are the Epcot fireworks views? I have read somewhere that those rooms are nice???:goodvibes

Great article! And that view is REALLY nice for the amount of points spent.
Thank you!

Don't count on that for grand gatherings. We were a grand gathering in 2008 and all three rooms were on different floors (although one was right above our room). We were at BWV.

If being near one another is your top request, that is what you should focus on. Last year my daughter had a one bedroom and we had a studio and we asked to be near each other and we were at opposite ends of the resort. She was near the tennis court and we were near jelly rolls. We could not have been any further away. I have yet to this day to ever get a request at BWV and that is after staying there 10 times over the last 4 years. I try to keep my request down to ONE in hopes of getting it -- we are there again in October and December and I'm not too optimistic that I will get my one request.

There are only a few standard view rooms on the 5th floor, the building reduces to 4 floors after the hallway split over the main pool. You cannot access the stairs near the parking lot/bus stop from the 5th floor. For standard view, I always request "top floor, across from the bus stop" and have never been disappointed.

Is that the view pictured in the above link that the pp posted? http://www.yesterland.com/views.html

Thanks!
