So, I tried to get the BWV Studio, but right now we are at OKW and we are wait listing. I am considering just staying at OKW since it is summer, good pools (I hear), and we have a rental car this time which we usually skip around Christmas and Spring Break due to the higher cost.

My concern is we are bringing an adult who will has a hard time with the heat and will likely spend a number of days hanging around the hotel. This is not a person who is going to be using the pools. She will likely spend some time trying to relax and get ready for teaching again in a few weeks while my daughter and I are at the parks.

BWV has a pretty good indoor area for reading and such (not like DWL, but still pretty good). It also has the Boardwalk, which is pretty interesting. I like being able to walk to Epcot and MGM, but since we have the rental car it is a good time to try one of the resorts that are "less accessible" in this regard. From my limited knowledge, it is does not seem like there is a lot there by OKW.

I could consider Saratoga Springs if someone had a compelling reason for this particular situation. Given how many fewer points OKW requires, it would need to be compelling.

Any recommendations from those who have more experience with these resorts? Thanks in advance!

I real downside in your situation is that OKW studios have 2 beds and no sofa. So your stay-at-the-room person would need to spend considerable time on the bed if she wants to read, watch TV, etc. If she doesn't tolerate heat well she probably would not enjoy waiting for a bus to get to Hospitality House, where she could sit and read or visit the gift shop, etc., so you would need to hope that you could get a room VERY close to HH and she could walk. While the OKW bed situation will be better for sleeping in your case, it will make time in the room less comfortable for her.

We have stayed at OKW, BWV and SSR. By far the most "interesting" is BWV. IMHO there's not many comfortable places to people-watch at SSR and the choice of food outlets is rather restricted. Like OKW SSR is a rather spread-out resort. So for all of the above reasons, I would vote for BWV.

On the other hand, the 2 beds at OKW will mean that each of you has a bed and no one is sleeping on a pull out couch -- quite a plus for some people. The room will have 2 chairs and a table, which are reasonably comfortable. No matter where the room, it's very easy to jump on the first bus that comes by and get to the Hospitality House (after verifying that the driver is definitely going to stop there). To get back to the room, it's easiest to walk across the street and down to the 1st bus stop and then get on the first bus.

If you have a car, you can also drop your friend off at any resort, where they can relax or walk around, or people watch. WL has some wonderful nooks and crannies and BC/YC, BW and GF are just plain lovely. The other DVC resorts also have some very comfortable lounge areas. Getting back to OKW during the day will require going to one of the parks and transferring to an OKW bus, or getting to DTD and taking the boat back (and then the bus to the room), OR taking a cab back. Depends on how adventuresome your friend is and if they can tolerate being out in the heat that much.

You can also try waitlisting for a different resort, even if it's for part of your trip.
