BWV or BLT or a little of both

We are considering buying in to DVC. Not until 2010 though. Boardwalk is a special place for us, it is where we got married (Seabreeze Pointe). However, BLT MK view rooms look fantastic. Plus, we have 2 young children so the close proximity to MK is a huge draw. So, now we are a little torn. Do we go for our "favourite" resort BWV (this is the only deluxe we have stayed in) or do we go for BLT? The other option we are considering is buying into BWV and then getting BLT add ons. What do you think would be the best option for us? Remember, this isn't something that we can do just yet. It will definitely not be until the end of 2010. Yet another option we are considering is not buying in at all and just renting a week at each resort next November.

I think if you love the BWV, then that is where I would buy and do add ons at BLT for the times you want to stay there with an MK view.

I do believe that getting MK view will be tough for non owners, especially during December.

But being happy is most important, IMO. I bought in through resale at my 2nd favorite resort, VWL, and then did an add on a week later at BLT, because that is really where I want to stay. It allowed me to get in with less points this way. Of course, I realized that I really just wanted BLT so now I am selling off VWL. I learned that being able to book my whole trip at 11 months where I know I will be happy was too important to continue to own at a resort that I really did not want to stay at.

I think your plan of buying where you love and then adding on at BLT makes a lot of sense since you can buy in at BWV, via resale, for less than the 160 minimum to buy in to BLT through Disney. And, by next year, you may find you will be able to get both BLT and BWV through the resale market.

I would go with BWV just because of the points to stay. Standard view with their lower point value.........I also think BLT MK views will be great but I also believe you would have a better shot at those at 7 months then either a standard or boardwalk view at BWV, just because of the points it takes.

We have little one that love BWV....we enjoy our walk through Epcot and jump on the monorail to MK. The added bonus is when we are strolling back at night we get the boardwalk performers to watch. Truly I think BLT will be great and we look forward to staying there but BWV just seems to have a little more, for us anyway.

My kids have always loved the monorail. My daughter thought of it as a ride when she was younger and wanted to stay on it and ride just for the fun of it! We discussed buying a DVC at Boardwalk Villas or Beach Club Villas vs. BLT, but my daughters still love the monroail (even at 13 and 11) and begged us to buy at BLT. We agreed since the cash incentives are great right now. We are all excited about the dedicated 2BR MKV that we have booked for next year's Spring Break! All that said, we will probably add on 50-100 points at either BCV or BWV at some point since we enjoy that location as well! Good luck in your decision. Both are great options!

We are with you! We are closing on 100 points at BWV and when it closes we will add points at BLT. We wanted both! The best way for us was to find a resale for BWV (we paid $82/point) and then add on at BLT because we did not want to start with 160 points of BLT. We would rather start with 100 of each. We also want to have our points divided up in such a way that the contracts are easy to divide into 2 equal parts for inheritance purposes.

If you are going resale, give yourself plenty of time to find the contract that will work best for you, and be patient!
