We are planning a trip for January 2010. My cousin is being deployed to Afghanistan next month, will be gone for a year, so he generously gave me his point s to use. Between the two of us, I will be able to book all my days for a BWV GV except our last day, Thursday.

Will that day still be available at 7 months when I can used my SSR transferred points? I'm worried because it will be the start of MLK weekend. I will book SSR for now and hope to get BWV. Or should I skip like Tuesday that week because that will be easier to get?

Likelihood of getting a GV at BWV at 7 months out for any night of the year is slim. In fact, you need to call exactly 11 months out to have a chance.

I called today and there is one left. We'll hopefully be booking it tomorrow.

I am wondering then how accurate the Resort Reservation Availability thread is. It shows a great deal of BW GV openings for the next few months, and leaves the impression that they were easy to get.

The resort reservation availability is only as accurate as the people posting on it, not everyone who owns DVC posts on these boards. So whle it is a good tool it will never be completely accurate.

We have the days so far! Just waiting for the 7 month mark to try and get our last day. Are the GVs one floor or two?

single floor GV is more impressive of the two, so you might put in a request

We've had both and the sheer size of the one floor is amazing and impressive. The 2 floor stairway, vaulted ceiling and upper floor location is pretty impressive too. You won't go wrong with either.

Thanks for the replies. I really don't care if it's one or two floors. The pics I've seen show 2 floors but the only floor plan I've seen is 1 floor.

OT question - I changed my 6 day MYW Hopper Expiry in November to a 10 day No Expiry Hopper for my next trip 1/10. If I want to go again 1/11, can I change to a AP with the DVC discount? And if so, will I get a refund since the AP is cheaper than the 10 day ticket I have?

No, unfortunately you can only upgrade a MYW ticket within 14 days of first use. So if you use part in 2010, it will not be upgradeable in 2011.
