BWV extra adult charges

I've done a search, but haven't been able to find a thread (so far) that addresses my specific question.

Here's the situation.

I have booked a 2 br deluxe BWV for a weekend. It has a master bedroom with king bed, a second bedroom with queen bed and additional sleeper sofa, and a living room with sleeper sofa. I think the maximum occupancy is either 6 or 8 (that's not an issue)

I will be joined by 2 adult friends, and my teenage daughter. I have paid an extra adult fee for the 3rd adult for all 3 nights. My daughter & I will share the master bedroom, the other 2 adults will share the second bedroom. A 4th adult may or may not be joining us for one night (would use the living room couch). The adult I have already payed for has decided, because of a family situation, to leave one night early.

The question is, if the extra adult shows up, do I pay extra for that one night, or consider the fee I've already paid as making things even? Should I , if I pay the extra for one night, then ask to have the other fee refunded?

Also, since I have 2 bedrooms, should I even be paying the extra fee at all? I know there is an extra charge for more than 2 adults in a HOTEL room, but what about the villas? I've never stayed in one before, so I automatically paid the surcharge, as I did when I stayed on site with my parents when my daughter was younger.

I just checked the dvc website and it states a 2bdrm villa accomodates 8 adults and 1 child under age 3 in a crib. Hope this helps. Try posting this question on the dvc board. There know all about the villas on that board.

The maximum occupancy for a BWV 2 bedroom is 8 plus a child under 3 (who can use the Pac N Play portable crib).

You should not be paying an extra adult fee at all. There is no such fee at any of the DVC resorts. Whoever said you had to pay extra was mistaken.

Thank you. I went through CRO, and when I told them 3 adults, one child (actually a junior, but I didn't realize there was a difference) I was told there was an extra charge for more than 2 adults. (which is true for a ROOM) As has been often mentioned here, sometimes the person you talk to on the phone doesn't know the correct rates. I knew I didn't have a problem as far as having too many people in the villa...I just needed to know if there were different rules for nonDVC member as to how many adults were allowed without an extra charge. The more I thought about it, the more I wondered why I was being charged extra, since I was already paying (in effect) for 2 rooms. Perhaps I'll just wait until check-in to try to clear it up.

I did look on the DVC forum, and the closest question to mine was about DVC members not being charged the extra adult fee when staying in a non-DVC WDW resort using their "points", as long as they did not exceed the room's maximum capacity. (which is a member perk) Non DVC members who stay in a WDW non DVC hotel have to pay extra for more than 2 adults, even if the total number is below room capacity. (3 adults in a 5 person capacity room still have to pay for an extra adult) I didn't know if they treated each bedroom as a separate hotel room, or the whole villa as "one" guest room...which appears to be what happened in my case! I'm NOT a DVC member, so didn't know which rules applied to me when staying at a DVC hotel.

I thought that this board would have better answers for someone who isn't a DVC member

As a DVC member I can have eight adults in a two bedroom however I make my reservations through DVC. You are reserving your room through CRO. A certain number of villas are available for cash reservations through CRO and are subject to all the rules and regulations they have.

This is just my opinion, but I believe CRO is correct. Another difference is when I reserve I don't get maid service every day. As a cash reservation you will.

We have stayed in a 2 bedroom BWV twice with 4 adults and a child and were NOT charged for extra adults. The last time, the agent on the phone told me I had to pay for 2 extra adults but I told her to ask someone else and she admitted she was wrong. And we are not DVC members.

I'm also a DVC member, and it does not make sense to me that you would have to pay extra when you haven't exceeded the room capacity you're already paying for. I think CRO is wrong.

When going through Disney, there is no extra guest charges applicable to any of the home away from home resorts--BWV, OKW, BCV, VWL, and FW Cabins-- as long as you stay within stated maximum occupancy.
