We are staying 4 nights at BWV (followed by 3 nights at VWL) next month. We will have a rental car, but was wondering if the bus transportation was still a hassle from BWV to MG and AK. When we stayed at BWV years ago, the buses made stops at BCV, Dolphin (or Swan), before it went to the parks. Does it still stop at other resorts? Does it stop at first or last at BWV to and from parks? If we have to sit on the bus too long, we will just drive the car to the parks. What do you advise? Thanks.

The only time I take the bus is to MK. Typically it stops at Swan & Dolphin after BW. I always drive to AK, DTD.

They changed it a little making a little better than it was about 7 years ago. Back then all busses stopped at BWV, Swan, Dolphin, YC and BC. Now, YC/BC usually has its own bus and thus BWV shares with S/D. However, sometimes it still goes to back to an all resort run apparently just to make sure you remember how misreable that run was so that you are thankful for the miniscule improvement that was made.

The usual run to MK now stops first at BWV when going and coming back(rather than last like when you went). But that means you go to S/D when going to MK. Also, now and then and for absolutely no reason they do it the opposite and make BWV the last going to or coming from the park.

Personal view, if you have a car, take a bus to MK because even as slow as that is, it is usually still better than parking, taking a tran, then having to take a boat or monorail to the park. However, I would definitely drive to AK and DD, it is a lot faster than the BWV bus..

Okay, you guys are making me nervous :scared:

We are staying @BWV for the FIRST time EVER in March
We have a 8:05am appointment at the BBB in the MK one morning
and 8:05 ADR at the Tusker House for Donald's Safari Breakfast another morning.
We are flying and will not be renting a car so driving ourselves is not an option. There are 7 in our party (5 adults, 3yo and 5yo.) We haven't had a problem in the past making early ADRS from other resorts using Disney transportation...

Last year we drove to Disney by car. Before this we never had a car and always took the bus from park to park, park to resort only.
My wife and I took our car to the parks this last time and if I take a car again it will only be use for a resort to resort trip.

Following is my car trip report:
We took our car to Epcot. We waited in line to park in the second to last spot in our row. Ran to the tram but missed it. Waited for the next one. On the way out we waited (not as long as you wait for a bus) for a tram to take us to one of the last stops for the tram so we could walk to our car in the second to last spot. Now we get in a car that is over 100 inside (this is November too). Start the car turn on the AC and stood outside until it cooled off.

Well I did't learn my lesson. That same night we hit Magic Kingdom. This time we were parked in the last parking lot in the second to the last row, in the forth from the last spot. Walked briskly to the tram, we made it. Now the tram takes us to TTC. Line was very long for the Monorail so we took the ferry. This was great, loved the trip across Seven Seas. Had a wonderful time at MK.

This was an extra magic hours night in MK. About an hour before park closing we headed back to our resort. You would think it's only resort guest so they'll be in line for the buses or Resort monorail, well no. The line for the TTC monorail was looked very long so again we headed to the ferry. It didn't look to bad. Well I'm going to end this now. It us an hour to make it back to our car from this point.

At Park closing we have waited for 40 mins. for a bus back to our resort but I was drop off at the front door of our resort within an hour of leaving the park. This was Thanks Giving week and all resort were booked. So was our parking lot. It took me 15 mins. to find a spot on the other side of POP from were our room was located. It took us over 2 hours to make it back to our room from the time we left the park.

Sorry I went on so long but I will never take a car to the park if we are staying on property. Have a Magical Time.

I think the busses are frequent in the morning, at least for MK. I know a couple of times we just missed a MK bus and another one came pretty quick.

I wouldn't drive to MK. I drive to AK because it's usually pretty quick to get the tram. When I stayed at AKV, I drove to DHS and from getting in my car to the time I entered DHS, it was about 15 minutes. I also drove to Epcot and was within walking distance, didn't have to take the tram. I always drive to DTD, busses are always horrendous.

Just note in relation to some comments above, from BWV, you don't drive to Epcot or studios. You can walk to both or take a boat so the only parks to consider driving to are AK and MK and I do not recommend doing so for MK but do so for AK. As to early breakfast times, you should be OK if you make sure you leave as early as possible. The problem you can face with busses to MK and AK is that S/D is two stops and sometimes, for who knows what reason, they just sit at each those stops five minutes or so waiting and they seem to do it sometimes even when the bus is already full. Also, depending on time of day and year, the AK bus goes to Blizzard Beach giving you another stop on the way.
