BWV/BCV Studio vs. VWL's?

We've stayed in Studios at both BWV and BCV and, other than location (of course) and decor, noticed very little different between them. We're interested in trying VWL for our next trip, but are curious what differences (if any) there are? Are they the same size/set-up? Are there any views that are "coveted" and worth requesting? How many floors are there (I usually like top floor)? Any info you could offer would be appreciated. Thanks!

I have only stayed in a VWL studio, so I can't compare other than I think they are about the same size , just much different decor. The views at VWL are pretty much just a tree view. There are a FEW rooms that overlook the quiet pool and might have a little view of the lake behind WL. These rooms are close to the elevators. There are 4 full floors and the 5th floor has a few rooms. The rooms on the 5th floor have an enclosed balcony, so you would have to stand to enjoy the view. Hope this helps, have a great trip, we love VWL.

I'm pretty sure that size-wise they are all about the same, maybe give or take a few square feet in either direction.

I can't help too much as I am trying VWL for the first ime next month:Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc

I have been keeping room reports though. I don't have many but what I have says they are all terrific rooms with a few exceptions (which you will see I have boldly marked). Here is a link with some room reports and it will give you some view comments. http://members.aol.com/InstImpres/wildernesslodge As has been said, asking for a specific room and getting it is slim. This will give you an idea of “sectional views”.

Good luck
Sandy

Sandy, thanks for posting the room reports you'd collected. Those "coveted dumpster views" are going on my list for sure! ;)

Remembering what I do of Wilderness Lodge when I stayed there many years ago, I was thinking VWL would probably offer a choice of lake or wood views, either of which would be just fine with us -- but I wondered if any had an MK view for fireworks (or maybe I'm totally picturing wrongly how VWL is situated relative to MK??). I also usually ask for the highest floor, since those tend to be quietest, but it sounds like I want to avoid one of the few 5th floor rooms with enclosed balconies that Erin mentioned, as I love walking out on the balcony at night/morning--especially if DD is sleeping.

Ah, decisions, decisions. So glad my toughest choice in life is the view from my villa! :)

If anyone else has stayed in VWL recently, and would like to weigh in on good views (and/or comparisons to BCV/BWV), then "I'm all ears!"

We stayed in #3505 at the VWL in May. Our studio overlooked the quiet pool, woods, and we could see a sliver of the lake. Officially we had a courtyard view. The only thing I requested upon check in was on-smoking and anything but a parking lot view.

We were also quite a hike from the elevator but after looking at a map we learned there were many other rooms much further away. It was very quiet on our end; we never heard a thing on either side of us. We did hear people at the pool, but only when our balcony doors were open.

I think the main lodge sits between MK and the villas so I don't think the fireworks can be seen by any of the villa rooms, but I may be wrong.

This was our first trip home and we were delighted.
