BWV AP Rates Question (nothing to do with AP Luckout Thread)

We just made our deposit for our first stay at BWV in early December (splitting the cost of a 2 bedroom villa with another couple). It will be a 10 day trip, so we plan to buy annual passes. The lady from Disney Travel told me we would be able to switch the reservation to AP rates if and when they become available, but she didn't knwo when that would be.

Can anyone tell me when AP rates are usually published for December? Is BWV usually included? We will be staying there November 28 - December 8th. (and yes, do we plan to purchase and keep our APs, just in case you're wondering )

Can't say when the AP rates will be released for December. Disney seems to be releasing the room only discount rates a lot closer to the date than in the past few years. (Of course until 2001, there weren't room only discount rates issued at all for this time).

It is rare for there to be AP rates for the 2 bedroom DVC units, especially for early December. In fact, I'm a bit surprised that you were able to get a 2 bedroom for cash for that time at all. It's a very popular time for DVC members to visit.

You might get lucky, but my advice is to check for AP rates regularly and also to keep a close eye on the Resort Board. If there are any AP rates for a BWV 2 bedroom, they will go fast!

Have you considered renting points from a DVC member? You might get a better deal that way.

Thanks for the info Carol. Becuase we are splitting the cost with another couple, even rack rate isn't that bad. It works out to approx $230 per night per couple. Still, I will keep my fingers crossed that an AP deal might come along.

To tell the truth, I was expecting to have trouble getting the 2 bedroom villa for early December as well. I tried 3 years ago only to be told that DVC members had snatched them up as soon they become available. We had no trouble this year though. We just called approx a week ago and got it.

AdventureKat - We did indeed consider renting the points, but our friends who are taking the other bedroom in the villa were not comfortable with the idea.

Discounts may not be available for 2 bedroom units. You may be able to get 2 1 bedroom units (if a discount is available) for less than 1 2 bedroom (at rack rate).
