I'm a new & proud owner of BWV and am planning my first trip on my points the last week of April 2015. I am currently scheduled for a boardwalk view. Are there any recommendations as to which rooms to request or avoid? What's the best way to get such rooms? This will be my second stay at BWV, first boardwalk view and first on my points! Woo hoo! Thanks!

Most of the 2 bedrooms are at the far end, above Big River & next to Jellyrolls. I would request top floor for more quiet. I use the "contact us" link on the member website.

I always request top floor, close to the elevator. Out of probably 8 boardwalk views, I only got it once. This last trip I was on third floor (of 5), 2 rooms from the end of the hall.

Nothing beats it though:

Room 3005 - lockoff studio:

See this for floor plan. A 2 bedroom would be 1 bedroom + connecting studio.

I would agree, upper floors are the best. We've been lucky and have been mostly on the 5th floor. One time we were placed close to the elevators which didn't go over well with a late sleeping family since you can hear them going up and down and they start early. We just booked a Standard view for April, this will be our first time doing this...hope it goes well.

There are no Boardwalk view rooms actually close to the elevators since you need to walk at least down the first leg of hallway before reaching the beginning of the boardwalk view rooms. The 2BRs that are closest to the elevator are on the second floor, look directly at the basketball carnival game on the boardwalk, and have the large wooden balconies from which you cannot see over the wall when sitting down. Those are OK rooms but definitely not the more desirable boardwalk views. Thus, for boardwalk view, I recommend against ever asking for close to elevator when getting a 2BR.

Though mentioned above is asking for fifth floor, we usually give ourselves a higher probability of getting the request by simply requesting high floor, and thus possibly getting the fourth or fifth floor.

I had a standard view studio in Aug and LOVED the location. Room #1085 (http://photopost.wdwinfo.com/data/500/BWV_DrivewaySV.jpg). It was on ground floor and the patio walked out to the big grassy area in front of the building that leads to parking lot/bus stop area. When we walked out our front door there was a door to the main pool that we could shoot through and under overpass to the boardwalk (or shoot the other way and head to HS). LOVED LOVED LOVED it. Was also somewhat close to elevators to main lobby and right near laundry room. Also next to ice machine room. I simply requested 'close to elevator' and this is the room I got.

I have a question. We booked BW view for the first time for Aug 2015. I plan to request 'top floor' but I don't like walking long hallways or not being able to get outside quickly...like to be close to exit of building (doesn't have to be near elevator, can do stairs). Is there a stairwell to the outside at that end of the BW view (where there are 2BRs on the top floors...the end near the dance hall)? Maybe I should switch to standard view and save 21 points (it's just for 3 nights)?? I'd like to be near the studio we had in Aug (mentioned above), but standard view can be tennis court view too or at the end of the hallway....so no guarantees there either....though I could request ground floor.

Yes, there are stairs at the end by Jellyrolls. You go down them and exit by the bridge that goes over to the Swan.
