BWV 10/16 Reservation-Received the Dreaded 'Welcome Home' Letter

We also just received the letter but only for our Std view studio not our Boardwalk View room. Coming from the west coast and having teen girls
we are not rope drop any more. Love to sleep in have coffee and enjoy our balcony. Hope we are not waken up to drilling in the morning.

Standard View rooms were having exterior and balcony work done months ago, I wonder what's going on?

I just mentioned this in the last post, but I wanted to add that we were in a standard view 2 BR (overlooking check in if that matters) in December. They were literally ON our balcony most days as they were doing a lot of outside work on them. The villa we had was NOT refurbed at that time. I also received the letter for our upcoming September stay and I was really hoping to have a renovated room this time with no outdoor construction lol! It was almost a year ago and the same story!!

I thought I read that the room renovations were done so hopefully you will have a renovated room :)
We hope for one too

Yes, we're in a standard too, thought the work was supposedly to be finished this month.

Perhaps the 'view' rooms will be safe in October

Called MS today to purchase MNSSHP tickets. Also discussed the letter and my concerns as to balcony usage restrictions.

Was given a # to call the BW 407-939-6200. The basic info I was given:

They are hoping this specific work is completed before the 1st week of October (hope so!)

Work will only be performed during normal 'working hours'...no noise in the evening

That's interesting-MS supposedly called over to the Boardwalk on Sunday and they didn't give them that info-here's to hoping that the people working today had a better idea than Sunday. I was told that they (the hotel) didn't know specifically where they would be working that week this far out and to call 10 days out (to the number you were given) to request "away from construction"

We also received the letter last week. Our stay is Oct. 26-31st in a one bedroom standard view. Crossing our fingers for a good stay!

Did a split stay in July. Two nights BWV studio, two nights BI room and 3 nights Saratoga one BR. Our villa studio faced the "quiet" pool near the Community Hall at BWV. We were not bothered by any type of maintenance at all. I really can't recall any work other than the area around the Flying Fish. The BI stay was a little different. We had a room looking out to the pool. Work started about 830 am. They were doing exterior painting of just about everything. Workers were everywhere. Another crew was working on the water line for the sprinklers. They jackhammered concrete and used backhoes to remove shrubs ALL day, both days. At any given time there were 20+ workers in the relatively small courtyard area. IT WAS LOUD!!!!! We spent both days at the pool because it was so oppressively hot. They were yelling back and forth with no regard for the people at the pool. It was just me and my adult daughter. I would not have been able to stay there any longer than what we did. I can't imagine if we would have been there with our family with the two grandchildren who need afternoon naps. On a side note, our first stay at Saratoga was quite pleasant!

Yep, we had a standard view last October and they were outside the balcony doing exterior work.
Wonder if they got them because they are working on the Inn side? (Since the many of the standard view rooms face toward the inn side of the resort?)

Us too. It was pretty disconcerting when one morning I opened the curtains and a worker was staring back at me from the other side of the balcony.

Ugh that would be a rather unpleasant surprise

Similar here. Walked in the room mid afternoon and a guy was right on the balcony. He left a rag on the balcony when he left.

We were in a BWV on the first floor last October and there was painting going on all week. For our entire stay we had a crane that would be parked out front all day long. We had absolutely no use of the patio except late at night. Suffice it to say we were not pleased and I complained to Member Services. I understand maintenance has to occur, but this was ridiculous. My recommendation was to inform guests of work that could cause some disruptions. Maybe they listened. I still would not have been pleased, but more understanding with some advance notice. My only notification was when I opened the curtains morning 1 to find multiple painters on our patio. HELLO!

We are returning the last week in October and have received the same letter mentioned in the original post. Definitely requesting a higher floor.

Just got home today. Stayed on the standard side and am very confused. We too will be back in October in a standard room again. We saw that they are working in several studio standard rooms on the first floor. They had about 8 closed off and we watched them take old drywall out and bring new drywall in. They just did these rooms. But only studios. We were thinking there was a problem and had to redo the studios. We couldn't get an answer, but kept asking. Also lots of work around the main pool. Replacing concrete and it looks like they are putting in posts holes and it looks like maybe they are preparing to fence the pool in, but I can't confirm this...my DH is a builder and this is what it looks like to us. You had to cut through the building to get around as the sidewalks were blocked off. I was hoping this was done as its been a year now. The small parking lots was still filled with construction equipment.

Note to self, pack a robe for Oct trip lol

Interesting. Probably in the minority but I'm all for fence around pool if it requires key card to gain entrance. Usually crowded, had thought it likely a popular place for visitors to crash.
