BWPPI to SNA Timeline Question for Cab

We have a 6:45pm flight out of SNA on a Monday night. What time should we plan to call the cab to be there in time ? My gut says 4:30, but not sure if that is enough time and if we are traveling in the flow of traffic or the opposite way of the traffic. We don't have bags to check (just carry on) and I normally like to get to the airport with lots of time to not be stressed, it is our first time flying into and out of SNA so I am not familiar enough with it and traffic around that area. Any tips would be MOST appreciated. Thank you so much everyone.

The airport is small, so that is nice. The traffic will be your problem. I would probably leave between 3:30 and 4:00 to be sure to get there in time, with little stress.

I'll admit at the beginning that I over-estimate the time it will take for everything, because I get anxious if I think I'm going to be late... That being said, I'd plan on getting a cab around 3:30pm or so.

Google says it will take 20-30 minutes from Disneyland to SNA. That being said, you have traffic in the afternoons. Because of my anxiety, I would plan on it taking an hour. When its less than an hour, then I'll be relieved :) TSA isn't bad at SNA, but I'd still plan on 30 minutes to get through it and to the gate. But, after running for too many planes at final boarding calls, I want to be there for at least an hour ahead of the start of boarding.

So, overall, I'd plan 2.5-3 hours just to account for any potential issues.

Any thoughts on how much time you would leave for an 8:00 a.m. flight? Not sure when rush hour starts in LA... :scared:

To SNA? Or LAX (you mentioned LA)?

Heading for a 8am flight at SNA, I'd say 5:30am. LAX? Well, then, I'd go for 4:45am or maybe 5am, as it's about an hour to LAX, and I've never had a quick trip through TSA at LAX. Not uncommon for us to spend 30+ minutes to get through TSA during non-peak times.

This is good advice. We've made this trip many times and at that time of day it will be bad. I'd probably leave about 3:30.

Thank you all so much! I do like to get to the gate with about an hour to spare, so 3:30 we will leave the BWPPI. I too like to have as little stress as possible.

Actually, from my experience, the traffic is not bad that time of day going to SNA from Anaheim. I have left at 4pm on a weekday for a 6pm flight and had plenty of time, that's even dropping the rental car off. The traffic seems to be bad going the other direction that time of day. It will take you a half hour to get there, at most.

I would second a 4pm Departure, the traffic shouldn't be that bad and the SNA airport is easy it is maybe 100 years from security to any of the gates
