I was lucky enough to get to go to WDW in May for a convention, but DH did not go with me. At the time, we had booked POR for our 3 nights in the world in September after our 4 day cruise, but after an evening at Jellyroll's, I fell in love with the Boardwalk. Luckily for me, DH agreed to upgrade our ressies and now we will be staying at BWI 9/19-9/22 in a standard room. I know little to nothing about this resort - are there any especially good rooms to request, without upgrading to a waterview? I know we won't get a boardwalk view, but is it possible to see the Epcot Fireworks from a standard room? Are there any Boardwalk fans out there???

I'm just back from a week at the BWI. I loved it! Ask for a room on the third or higher floors. We had a first floor room and couldn't see Epcot or the fireworks. The Inn is lovely and very quiet except at fireworks time! We visited Jellyrolls also but we didn't like it as well as Howl at the Moon in the flats district of Cleveland. We requested a song with a sizable tip and it was not played during our three hours there. It was a very familiar song also. Oh well, to each his own! The fast food choices at the Inn are limited. They need a food court or a set-up like Captain Cook's at the Poly for those of us who want a quick meal. The boats and buses seemed to be timely. We only had a long wait once and that was for DD in the middle of the day. You will enjoy this location. I thought nothing could beat the Poly but this is just as good a choice.

We absolutely love the BWI. You have made an excellent choice. We stayed two years ago and had a garden view room. We were on the 3rd floor (can't remember the number) We had a great view of epcot and a lovely rose garden beneath us.

We have stayed in most resorts and BWI is our favourite - we are going back in August and trying concierge - we can't wait!!

We love the BW!! We stayed there in 2000 and had an excellent garden view room with a small balcony (3rd floor maybe?) above the door that goes outside to the courtyard. It was close to the lobby on the left side if you are standing on the boardwalk and facing the resort (ESPN side). We saw the fireworks (slightly obscured) from the quiet pool one night so I assume if you ask for a room at that end you may be able to see them, if not from your room, then just a few steps away. It will be further to the lobby that way but there are exits along the building if I'm not mistaken but I'm not sure if you can enter the building without going through the main entrance.
I believe one side of the resort contains the Villas and the other side is the Inn but I will let an expert confirm that. There are lots of people who return to the BW year after year because of the timeshare aspect so they could provide you with all the ins and outs of the place. Hope that helps!

Dear Vllygrrl,
I just returned on the 8th from a week long stay at the BWI. It was a lovely resort and the BW area is the best. We were in room 4298 which was a standard view, but it faced the courtyard. We could see the Eiffel Tower and Spaceship Earth from our balcony. We spent a great deal of time enjoying the balcony for coffee in the morning and a glass of wine in the evening. We also had a celebrity sighting while there. Pat Benatar and her family were also there. I spoke with them in the elevator one afternoon.
Don't forget to purchase a BW mug for free refills while you are there and a great souviner to bring home. I'll be glad to answer any questions you might have.
You'll love it there!
