Yes, another "which hotel" thread! LOL!

Right now, I have reservations for 3 nights in October (10/11-10/14) at three places and am trying to decide which reservation to keep:

Tropicana
BW Plus Pavilions
BW Plus Stovalls

We stayed 2 weeks ago at BW Plus Pavilions. Loved the room and pool was nice and felt very private. Free parking which was nice. Walk to the maingate wasn't too bad. We cut through the GCH.

BW Stovalls is a tad closer than Pavilions. Has two pools but I think one will be under renovation during our stay in October. They charge for parking. Am going to call them this evening to confirm how much because I've seen reports of $10 and of $20.

Rate we got at Pavilions before tax was $98.50/night. Stovalls is $108.50/night plus extra for parking.

Both BW's have free breakfast. Tropicana does not but that's not a deal breaker.

Tropicana rate was $119/night before tax. Parking is $9.75/night. With tax it's $139/night. With tax at Pavilions, it is $119/night total.

Has anyone stayed at these three and if so, which do you prefer and why?

I've only stayed at the Tropicana. It's basically at the crosswalk on Harbor, so it's pretty much as close as you can get. Rooms were clean and comfortable. I'm all about location, so I'd go with that one for that reason alone.

I found the walk from BW Pavilions to be about the same as the walk from the DLH to the maingate. Being so much closer to the park entrance is a big plus, especially since we will be taking an afternoon break each day.

I thought Stovalls was okay. The beds were very firm so that might be an issue if you don't sleep well on firm beds. Also, most rooms have double beds instead of queen. Not sure if that's important to you. Overall, it was a good place to sleep, had a good breakfast, and was an easy walk to the parks. I think if I were going to save money, I'd pick either of the Best Westerns, maybe Pavillions just because it's a bit cheaper. The walk from Tropicana is better, but to me, the walk wasn't that bad anyway.

When we stayed at Pavilions, we had a double bed room and were quite comfortable in it. The motel had towels available poolside so that was very convenient and very nice!

I haven't stayed at any of the three, but would take the Tropicana (or Desert Palms, or Candy Cane Inn, or Carousel Inn, or Castle Suites). The ease and convenience of being so close is a huge plus.

I looked at those other motels but they were charging more than we wanted to pay. Thanks for the suggestion though! Even Hojos was going to be $189/night just for a double bed room, which I thought was kind of high.

have you tried best western park place inn (right at the cross walk?)_ i got it for 125 with the free best western club.

I have stayed at Stovall's and Tropicana and we just booked our third stay at Tropicana for next month. You just can't beat the location and I bring my own cereal/milk for breakfast and avoid all the other junk at the continental breakfasts.

I just signed up for the BW rewards club so I don't have enough points yet to qualify for a rate discount. :( But maybe on a future stay, BWPPI will be a possibility!

umm you don't have to have been a member to get the rate they signed me up when I called to make my reservation and it worked took my room down to 125 a night. Not sure what card you used. Call BBWPPI them selves not the 1-800 number and see if they can help you.

That's great! I just checked the BWPPI's website and they appear to be all booked. I will call them later this week to see if anything has opened up. Thanks for the tip!

Your welcome. I am staying for my first time in Dec but the deal I got wasn't bad so just sharing how I got it in case it can help.

I'm pretty sure the Tropicana is closer to the maingate than the DLH. It's about a 5 min walk from the Tropicana to the turnstiles.
