Reviews, preferences????? All three of these have excellent prices over the time we'll be there and are very well-reviewed. We're a family fo four, spending 3 days in SD during our SoCal trip. I'm leaning towards The Dana.

We stayed at the Dana, it's right on Mission Bay. Loved it - 2 pools, right by a marina, restaurant, bar, coffeeshop, lots of grassy open area for kids to play. Only two stories, not a highrise. Loved our room (newer area) which opened right onto the bay, we even saw a dolphin. Close enough to walk to Sea World - but we drove. Rooms were clean, staff attentive. Can't wait to go back!

Thanks Katnik. I'm definitely leaning towards The Dana. What "view" did you choose when booking?

We stayed at the Dana a couple of years ago and when we booked we didn't know there were two different buildings. An older one and a newer one. We ended up with the older 2 story building. Our room was small, outdated and overlooked the parking lot. The grounds of this hotel are beautiful with the bay right there but we were disappointed with our room and view.

Maybe ask which building you'll be in and request a bay view. I know bay view means more $$ though.

Okay, we're booked at Island Palms. I had wanted The Dana but we got a much better deal at Island Palms, with free parking and HS internet (a must since dh always still has to work while on vacation).

Thanks for the input :)

just curious, did you already go on your trip? I noticed the date you originally posted was September...last August, we stayed at the BW Island Palms and loved it! We stayed in the newest building, it smelled so new and clean and the rooms were great..we stayed in a marina view and our kids stayed in the harbor view. If you've already been, did you like it?

Yes, we did go :) We were in the older building but we had a very big suite overlooking the marina. We thought it was great & we got a great price on it through ARES Travel. I loved San Diego & we had a great trip.
