Buzz's soccer question of the day. Today's topic, minor league soccer in the USA and Canada. With minor league soccer growing in both our countries, I'm curious if you have heard about new teams coming to your area or support existing minor league teams in your community in some way. Non soccer fans, have you seen any coverage of minor league teams in your community and have you seen interest grow in your area at all? It's great to hear about success stories like the new minor league team in Naples FL and a new team in NOLA coming in 2026 but I'm curious if anyone personally has felt the effects of soccer teams growing in their communities. Soccer is a grassroots, community based sport so any insights from all Disboarders would be appreciated.

I live in central Florida and consider myself a growing soccer fan. I started watching EPL in 23 and decided to start supporting Liverpool.* I was in Barcelona last fall when FC Barcelona soundly defeated Real Madrid. Great night! Started following Barca after that.

Honestly, I couldn't tell you a thing about Orlando's soccer team or whether they have one. I'd have to look it up.

No and No. But the DC area has DC United and the Spirit. Beyond that I know nothing.

This is the first I've heard about minor league soccer, and frankly I'm really surprised that I haven't heard of it before. Mainly I'm surprised because I live so close to the Mexican Border (by so close, I mean like 15 miles) and soccer's the major sport in Mexico, I would expect there'd be more interest around here. A majority of our neighbors have family in Mexico, may have grown up in Mexico, so I'd expect more interest in the goings-on in soccer.

You have two major league teams in your state as well as several minor league teams. Ironically, Mexico's league (Liga MX) is the most popular soccer league in America among Latinos. MLS and USL is trying to change that narrative.
