Buzz's final 2026 World Cup tournament thread. The traditional World Cup qualifying matches will be held in November with the remaining playoff spots to be decided in March. The World Cup finals' draw will be in Washington DC on December 5th at 11:30 am ET on Fox and Telemundo.

Canada will be able to watch on CTV, TSN, and RDS.

I truly pray this tournament is one of unification and a celebration of soccer and cultures from around the world. I hope it brings new fans to the sport and the beauty of the world overall. ️ 🏟

This thread will be solely focused on the final list of participants and the World Cup Draw to the World Cup final match. This will be my final soccer thread of the year.

DS#2 bought tickets Wednesday. He, DH and a bunch of their soccer friends all filled out a form to hope to win a chance. They all have season tickets to our MLS team. They didn't expect this opportunity because previously it was a very expensive lottery ticket to get a chance to buy them. He was the only person we know who won a chance to buy this week.

He spent 2 hours in the online queue, was able to get 2 tickets to 6 matches including semi-finals AND THE SYSTEM CRASHED, he lost them all. He got back in the queue and was finally able to get 2 tickets to 4 matches ~ no semi-final. He really hoped to get those to sell to cover the cost of the other tickets. He said between his first try and second the cost of the tickets had shot up. He was paying the same for 4 less tickets and no semi-final. Within an hour of him buying .... same "seat" sections had gone up another $100 each. I assume they kept going up as tickets were bought. He paid $310 each. All insane to me!

Not surprised at cost, I think ATL is going to be popular. He did look and could see some of the other venues and there were places where the tickets were MUCH less.
