I'm asking because your PM is more optimistic than the general soccer community in Canada apparently. The main point of the tournament is to grow the game around the world. If this doesn't work, I don't know what will. Canada soccer is kind of at a crossroads. They need more interest and funding in the sport and they need their CPL and MLS teams to succeed and truly be supported. This can't be a flash in the pan moment. Otherwise it's a waste (and I mean this kindly) for your country to host. Soccer needs to grow in non soccer communities to survive and prosper. It can't be solely reliant on immigrant communities.

I don’t think any other sport will grow exponentially in Canada as long as hockey exists.
