Buying Trading Pins on Ebay

I recently heard that a lot of ebay sellers that sell in bulk are selling fake pins. I really dont know the difference and I want to buy some pins for trading. However, I want to buy real pins. I like the deals that are 50-100 pins for about $50-$100. Any suggestions, or does anyone know an ebay sellers that sells ethically?

Your best bet for eBay when trying to buy more the one pin at a time would be to buy sealed starter sets. Just make sure even with those you inspect them when they arrive. So many people sell fakes on eBay it's kinda hard to tell till you get the actual pin in your hand. Goodluck with whatever you decide to do.

I'd love to know if anyone has any trusted eBay sellers they buy from as well.

We buy all of our pins on eBay. I like froofroosattic127, karaokekj11r4o, and chipdalepooh. I have bought tons of pins and never had an issue with even one of them.

I've had good luck with starter sets from bizzybee1 and brandnamestuff on eBay.

Definitely get your trading pins on eBay. Well worth the price that you will save so that you can trade them for the ones your really want.

I have also gotten a couple of scrappers from other dealers.

My opinion would be to start small--deal with a few sellers until you get a feel for who you can trust.

Read the threads about this very topic--you'll find out who to stay away from, and ASK here about particular sellers before you buy--just a suggestion.

Some scrappers can still be enjoyed--if you leave them at home and DON'T bring them to trade in the Parks--common courtesy!

How do you know that you're receiving authentic Disney pins? Aside from the OBVIOUS ones that look nothing like a Disney product, the mostly look identical. I've bought hundreds of pins from a reseller that has been named on here as selling fake pins and I didn't see any evidence of it in what I got, which is why I ask.

Go to the advanced search and scroll down. There's a spot to enter a seller's name.

Misspellings in the words on the back of the pin (the stamps), missing paint, wrong color paint, large divets in the paint. There are many ways to tell. I can't say for sure without having bought pins from the same seller but there are ways to tell.

This is a common misconception.unfortunately, most people don't recognize fake pins. I know I thought I had received authentic pins until I happened to purchase a duplicate and realized that there were differences; I had bought a few fake pins... Luckily, my girls still love the fakes, so they are just in their personal collections (they don't trade them).
