Buying tickets on MDE with room only ressie - FP+ question

New to this whole FP+

We booked a last minute room only reservation and need to add tickets. We couldn't do the package because one person needs a different number of days on their ticket (MIL only staying half the time)

But I want to put in for FP+ times so can I now just add tickets online at "my experience" to the room only package? I don't want to buy them thru Disney to find out I need some hard copy or have to wait to link everything once I arrive. I also don't want them to turn it into a package and make me buy the same for everyone.

We are leaving in 10 days and I realize we can't get some hard FP+ rides but we want to be able to book some now and not wait until we arrive.

However you purchase them, you should be provided a ticket number to enter into MDE. This would include purchases through Disney.
