If I buy... say a 5 day park hopper now, is there an expiration date?

In other words... To make vacation budgeting easier, I am thinking of buying our tickets now, not knowing exactly when we will go... By doing this have I placed a time limit on myself?

p.s... I am thinking of using Undercover Tourist for purchase...

Thanks.

You have to buy the tickets that don't expire. They cost a little bit more.

Unused tickets are good forever. A clock only starts ticking when you first use them at which time they're good for 14 days. It is unecessary to purchase the no expiration option unless you plan on using the tickets over multiple trips.

I would caution you from buying them right now though. Put the money aside in a separate bank account but don't buy them yet. If Disney offers a deal that requires the purchase of tickets then you'll have already spent money on these tickets and you'll still have to buy additional tickets.

Ditto!! ::yes::

i do pretty much the same thing....
about twice a year i buy a 7-10 day pass. then the next time i go, whoever is going with me uses it or one from my backstock (i have an AP).

do remember that many places charge a low shipping fee, so you would be paying that each time also.

Don't get confused by this statement. This is only true if you plan to use a portion of the days on a ticket, and then use the rest later. If you plan to buy a 5 day pass, and use all five days at a future date, you have no problem. The only stipulation is that you have to use all five days within 14 days of the first use. If you want to spread those days beyond 14 days, it is then that you would need to non-expiring option.

That said, if you plan to take multiple trips in the coming years, the non-expiring option is always worth a look. One 10-day non-expiring pass will create a savings of 10-15% off the cost of two standard 5-day passes.
