Buying tickets from ut

I am trying to understand this... Forgive me as I know it's been asked.
If we buy tickets from undercover tourist with the full intention of upgrading to AP when we go in September(after we use them the first day)... Do we need to purchase (from UT) regular one park per day tickets to get the best value? We are going in September but plan to visit again in febuary and would like park hopper and the memory maker. What is the best thing we can do for our plans for September and February?
I'm just having a hard time understanding the best way to go with the purchase and upgrading.

UT tells you what the savings are over the gate price. Just buy the one that offers you the greatest savings. If that includes the water parks option just don't use the water parks/more option from the ticket if you don't plan on getting an annual pass that includes that.

Thank you so much for answering...so basically whatever I pay for the tickets today, when we go to upgrade to AP, the CM will take the price of the AP and "subtract" the gate price of the ticket I purchased?

Oh and one more question. The memory maker that is included with AP, will it be active as soon as we upgrade?

Yes, that has been the practice, assuming you used the ticket at least once to enter a park and ask to upgrade before the ticket expires. The annual will be backdates to the first use of the ticket used for the upgrade. You must also upgrade before the ticket expires and if you use all the entitlements, you must upgrade before you leave the park on that last day of use. Refunds are not given so be sure the gate price of the ticket you purchase has a gate price less than the cost of the annual.

Oh and one more question. The memory maker that is included with AP, will it be active as soon as we upgrade?

Thank you so much. I just purchased the tickets from UT and was able to still get the good prices. I cant believe I didn't know about the price increases until yesterday! Thanks for all the help!!
