Buying Tickets Early This stinks!!!!!!!

So we bought tickets to universal for week of thanksgiving 2012. Thought we got a good price. After all, buy now to beat the price increase right???????? So redfaced!!!!!!! We got 2 park 2 day for 139.00 before the price increase back at the end of May and thought we did good.
Now i look on the website and the same ticket this week is 139.99 with a third day freeeeeeeeeeee.
I am furious and feel so stupid. Should have waited till the week before we leave to buy our tickets.
Needed to rant, vent anyone else do this?????

No issue. Just take them to customer service when you get there. I am sure they will upgrade your tickets accordingly. They do it all the time.

I believe they will. They aren't out anything and will actually get you spending more money in the park. Why don't you give them a call?

I'd definitely call and see if you can get the better deal. They may do it for you.

cs will upgrade your tickets for free to add the 3rd day....I bought a ticket with credit card points...the 2 day base and when I saw the new promotion I just called Universal and whalla! they told me no problemo.....

I figured they would. Universal is really good for things like that and they know that they will get more revenue if you are in the parks an extra day.

Thanks for the information. I got 1 day park hoppers with credit card points. I'll need to give them a call and see if I can upgrade to the 2 day + 1 free for a small fee. I was originally going to wait until I got to Orlando to upgrade.

I don't mean to rub salt in the wound, but I was just coming on here to check what good prices for tickets would be, as Travelzoo is currently running a special: $144 for 4 day, 2 park passes. So, I guess it's a good price? (plus $16/ticket fee)

Travelzoo adds on another $16 per ticket for shipping and handling...making it the same price as Undercover tourist for a 4 day park to park ticket.

Well I tried calling guest services. They said that upgrading tickets needs to happen at the park. I called the general customer service number. Did I just get unlucky in the customer service lottery and should try calling back or should I try a different number? Or is it the fact I'm going from a 1 day ticket instead of a 2 day ticket to the 2 day + 1 free ticket?

yes, that is correct.
you have to do it in person at the park at guest services.

nothing can be upgraded over the phone.

other peeps that have done the upgrade have been required to do it there in the park.

tickets are coded.
upgrading is a process that can only be done in person.

yes ditto....they told me the same, I have to come to customer services to upgrade but that is no problem to me....

hops&dreams that is actually a great deal but as damo says....it actually breaks down to be about the same per day pricing give or take a couple of bucks....but you have the park to park hopper it seems....

I bought base tickets which suits us better and wish we had four days to spend in the parks but we actually had two days before we cruise to spend in the parks and when the 3rd day was added free...well we decided to go on the half day we will be arriving as a 3 day before the two whole days....so we consider we got that bonus park day that we would have spent elsewhere...like hanging in the hotel....

I hope you grab that deal and thanks for posting it....hope others who can use it grab it also....we will all be having fun in the park

i always renew my AP so i don't pay close attention to ticket prices for the darkside but noticed this announcement in today's email to me.

just read about this deal for a 4 day 2 park pass that says it is 70% off regular pricing for UO tickets.

i always renew my AP so i don't pay close attention to ticket prices for the darkside but noticed this announcement in today's email to me.

It is a misleading advertisement. It turns out to be the same price as Undercover tourist.

They state that it is 70% off of single day prices which nobody would buy anyways and then once they add their shipping and handling fee of $16.00, it works out to be $160 which is the same as many other retailers.
