buying through amazon

when it ships from someone that is not "amazon".

do they still have the same guarantee? What if you want to return it?
I want an ipod dock that is $40 cheaper than Target, but it is not sold directly from amazon and that makes me nervous.

I always check the "store rating" for the individual sellers (I buy books this way quite often) and have never had an issue using someone with very good history.
