Just thinking ahead and may not even do this ever, but is it possible?

Currently, I have everything in one account with my husband as joint tenants, yada, yada June use year.

Considering, purchasing a resale contract under my name only and October use year. Would primarily use November, March and April. Is October the best use year for those months?

There's a thing in California (where we reside) that we both have to be on real estate contracts. I don't know if that's just for California and I can solo buy Florida/Hawaii. I'll have to look into that.

I would rarely or if done right, never combine with my June use year. The Oct would be all resale and I have direct benefits for my June use year. Will that make a difference? Can I stay on my October points and still go to the lounge?

I can’t answer the questions regarding CA but that’s a good UY for thst time of travel.

Entering the lounges doesn’t require a stay on a qualified membership. As long as you have DVC Y/BY, you are good.

I’m in California & there’s no requirement that both spouses be on real estate deeds & you can hold real property as your sole & separate property even if married - in fact I bought a house in CA & held it as my sole & separate property while married & since my income was adequate to secure the mortgage that was in only my name too. My then husband did file a quit claim deed at the time I bought the house which came in handy when I sold it many years latter.
I could see a scenario where one spouse’s income wasn’t enough to qualify for the mortgage & the mortgage co. required both spouses to be on both the mortgage & the deed, but if you’re paying cash you can title real property however you like.
However, the property would likely be considered community property irrespective of how it’s titled should you decide to sell or divorce.

Six nights in a Copper Creek Cabin. I keep thinking I'm nuts for wanting to buy another contract, but I think it would only take 2 visits to break even or even get ahead. 😮View attachment 1071839
Amazing. When I stayed in the Aulani GV and saw that it wouldve cost 17K cash I was so thrilled with my Aulani purchase. I know how much you love the cabins so I say if you can afford it 100% worth buying a contract to cover it.
