It is my understanding that the incentives for adding on are better on a cruise. However, do the incentives just apply to the properties being "pushed" at the moment? Or will I be able to get a discount or an OBC or whatever is being offered if I add on at Vero or HH or one of the older WDW resorts?

The incentives usually apply to the "being pushed" resorts only.

would the incentives offered while on a cruise only apply to "add ons" or would first time purchasers have incentives for purchasing while on a cruise?

The incentives apply both to add-on and new purchases.

As far as the older resorts go, there was a thread on here a few months ago where someone stated that they were offering LARGE incentives on even the "sold out" resorts on the cruises. I wasn't really buying it, though, as I had just been on the Dream and went to 2 sales presentations and the older resorts were not mentioned at all (heck, really only BLT was mentioned at all). I did not ask the sales agent, however, about incentives on the sold out properties as I figured there weren't likely to be any.

Listed on the sheet we received is:

BLT
AKV
Aulani
SSR
VBR

Very interesting that Vero was offered. So I guess I'll just have to wait & see what is up for grabs when we sail. Thanks, everyone, for the info you've provided. The DISers always know the answer!

I just joined on the Wonder last week. When I asked about OKW, I was told none available and there is a wait list?

may I ask what were the current incentives offered on the cruise?

OKW being waitlisted is what I was told a couple of months ago however there was availability at BCV and BWV. No idea if there still is.

I think it was $500 OBC, last year points, and fast passes.

During our cruise last December, a audience member at the DVC presentation that I attended asked about older resorts and the Guide stated that they weren't selling the older resorts during the cruise.

There were, however, selling older resorts on the Dream 4/10.

My guess is that the economy has increased the availability of the sold out resorts. It would be a good time to inquire.

And like anything else Disney, if you don't get the answer you expect ask another CM.
