Buying points and changing reervation???

Thought I'd ask the experts.... If you make a reservation and buy points from Disney because you are a few short...then waitlist what you really want and it becomes available. Can those purchased points be used for the new waitlist reservation?? TIA Sorry for the typo in the heading reservation lol!!

Yes, if you book something using OTU points, and wait list, they will allow those points to be used to fill a waitlist. What they can't do is fill a waitlist using OTU points that have not yet been purchased as part of another reservation.
