Do all resorts sell perishables (milk/etc) in their gift shops?
What foods would you fly down? Thinking poptarts, granola bars, cereal, etc
We will have a kitchenette the last six nights - fridge the beginning three

We have a small collapsible rolling cooler that fits perfectly in the overhead bin or under the seat but is quite roomy. I bought it at Kohls, but I've seen similar ones at Tuesday Morning. It can fold pretty flat if you want to throw it into another suitcase when empty, but we have also filled it with dirty clothes for the return trip and checked it.

We put in all sorts of things for the flight out. Milk, juice, sandwich meat, mayo. You can snack on the way and avoid a late night grocery run when you arrive. In our checked bags we've done various open and eat canned foods and cookies, crackers, etc. We tend to pack a suitcase full of this type of thing to avoid high prices and to give us an empty bag to use on the trip home for all the things we accumulate.

I know the resorts with DVC units attached carry perishibles. You pay "convience store" prices for them, though.

I think next time we will use www.wegoshop.com -- although I'll pack my own coffee grounds rather than risking them picking up bad coffee.

We were down in April and we packed a large suitcase of pop tarts, cereal, granola bars, and non-perishable munchies to take with us. While we would never consider it a "meal" (and DS4 fed most of the cereal to the ducks at our resort - his highlight) it was nice to have before we headed out early - usually had PS's around 11am - and in the evening before we settled down. :cat: When we headed home we used the suitcase for all the souveniors we had bought and believe you me we needed the space!! :sunny:

#1 Yes POR/VWL sell milk, some snacks etc. Also the food court(and gift shop) at POR will sell items like fruit, also milk, youghart (sp) etc. You should be fine. I think I remember seeing doughnuts, and poss pancakes at the gift shop...they also had pb/j and other common food choices.
#2 Foods I have flown with are: granola bars, mini muffins, crackers, PB/J, candy, tuna/crackers, trail mix, pringles, cereal etc. I do a seperate small suitcase, which I check, with no problems. Then at the end of the trip I pack the small suitcase in a larger one.

We did a grocery stop for milk, fruit, bread, water, and soda, if you do not have a stop, I would consider www.wegoshop.com to pick up your supplies. I found bring my own fruit and bread to the food court at POR a great help with the kids (3 of us could split 1 adult breakfast with a side of bacon).

Good Luck :flower1:
