I'm a new member and I'm planning our first DVC trip but I have some questions. Do most DVC members still use Disney to book their airline tix for their trip? Also do you use Disney to purchase your park tix. I know before we were members we used Disney to book everything. I was thinking Disney may be able to get cheaper airfare rather than dealing with the airlines directly. Your help would be much appreciated.

First trip? Third trip? I'm confused. I thought you were a new member who was going on your first trip? Or your fifth? A-ha! You must have a time travel device!! That's it!:p

You now have the solution to your problem!! Go back in time, to when they were drafting the DVC contract and make it so renting your points is strictly forbidden! Failure to follow this rule will result in forfeiture of all points for that year, to be deposited in wdwoldtimer's account. Yes!! Do it!!

I belive the OP may have meant a new DVC'er making first trip as owners.

As far as using Disney for airfare, I usually can get better rates myself.....of course, I am obsessive about checking airfare prices every day on the web. If you are the type that likes to have someone else take care of the details (nothing wrong with that!), then go through Disney. If you don't mind being vigilant about checking fares, I bet you could find better yourself. JMHO.....

use http://www.travelocity.com

Check the airfares to your frequent destinations until you have a sense of what the best rates are and then try to buy them from whoever matches the best price. I have purchased through travel agents, direct from the airlines and travelocity as long as they give you the best price. Be aware that you might not always get rock bottom price. You may have to be flexible with your travel dates.
