buying into dvc

can you book into other hotels in other countries or is it just disney hotels

Like any timeshare, you can exchange to other timeshares. DVC trades through Interval International, but only at selected resorts that are supposed to be equal in quality to DVC. There is also a "Concierge Collectio" where you can use points to stay at selected top hotels throughout the country and world. I'm not sure if that portion of the information is available to non-members on the web site or not. You will be able to see the DVC resorts on the web site, and members have access to the others, but I doubt non-members can see them. There are more than 25 countries represented in the "World Passport" collection.

Keep in mind though that the best value for your points is to use them at DVC resorts. Several DVC members own other timeshares that they have purchased strictly for the purpose of trading (at a much lower cost than DVC memberships).
