Buying DVC while @ DL question!

The initial price can have 'sticker shock', but we quickly learned how worth it was. DVC has nearly paid for itself with our vacations.

And I can't speak highly enough about it. The service, the accomodations, the 'perks'...it's awesome.

The DVC timeshare presentation was, by far, the best we had ever heard. No pressure. No creepy salesperson. Totally chill and laid back. In fact, we waited a three years (we're kicking ourselves NOW!) before buying in and our original 'Tour Guide' was/still with the company.

If you need a name/hometown for a referral let me know. We've yet to get 'credit' for referring anyone!

Honestly, I'd happily take SSR and hope to work some 7-month window magic down the road!!!

SSR is not your only option. We just purchased 314 points at BWV. Our guide tried to sell us SSR first, but we just did not like the property as much as BCV or BWV and told him we would only purchase at BWV or BCV. He put us on the waiting list and a week later, we had exactly what we wanted. As more and more DVC's get sold, the competition at the 7 month window will just get more fierce. Only buy where you want to stay mostly. At many times of the year, there is already no availabilty at the seven month window for the most popular DVC's.

We've gone back and forth about DVC for years, and the pendulum is swinging again!!!

Patti, I see you're back from DL. So, are we neighbors at SSR, yet?

Nope. We had a fairly-serious-but-completely-fine-now glitch on Friday, when we were supposed to do the tour. After that, we had other people with us all weekend, and it just plain didn't get done.

Honestly, I thought DH was stalling because he wasn't "sold" on the idea. Fast forward to last night! I kid you not: "Hon, why don't you and I take a quick overnighter to DL this weekend and buy into DVC." I could've smacked him upside the head, and no jury on earth would convict me!!!

From my exhaustive---I mean exhaustive---research, we really should buy at DL instead of on the phone or at WDW. The 2 APs offer for WDW is worth over $700 to us, and we have 2 trips planned to Florida this year. We have another trip planned to DL for 11/30, but I'm afraid they'll be into AKL by then.

So---the short answer to your kind question is No. The long answer is stay tuned fellow Disney nuts!
