Hello friends!

We've gone back and forth about DVC for years, and the pendulum is swinging again!!!

We'll be at DL soon, and at WDW in December. I know all about the WDW current incentive, but could anybody tell me the current incentive to buy while at DL? I've read that you get APs at either DL or WDW, but don't know if that is still in effect. I'm also wondering if the $15 off incentive at WDW is good at DL.

Anybody with insight on this?? Thanks!

The $15 off incentive is good regardless of where you are when you buy into DVC (whether you're at WDW, DL, or buying over the phone from your home). All you need is the name and hometown of someone who is already a member.

I'm not sure about the APs. I'm sure someone on the DVC boards will have the answer.

Good luck with your purchase. We love DVC too, and maybe we'll be able to buy in sometime in the future - I hope! :thumbsup2

The DVC Guides at DL about two weeks ago were expecting a big announcement come Oct, especially about a California DVC.

This would make me very very happy. If an anouncement for DVC in California happens I am going to have to step up my efforts of finding the cash to join! We stayed at OKW in March and loved it and can't wait to go back to WDW to see more of the resorts, but being on the west coast also would make DVC even more sweet. :thumbsup2 :cheer2: :Pinkbounc

I, too, am eager for a west coast DVC. I wouldn't mind if they waited until I could afford it, though. ;)

I don't think I phrased my question correctly...

I am NOT interested in using DVC points at DL. Although we would prefer onsite hotels, we go way too often and don't mind staying on Harbor Blvd. We go to WDW at least once a year, and that is where, IMO, onsite is a must.

Several months ago, people posted that they were offered APs at either DL or WDW if they purchased DVC while visiting DL---that's what I'm wondering about! Sorry if it is confusing!

BTW---I posted on DVC-operations, and got no assistance.

When we were at DL last May, we purchased our DVC membership and along with other incentives that were running at the time, we got vouchers for AP's that we could turn in for either a DL or WDW AP, not both. I have read that the AP offer was only available when purchasing at DL and not at WDW, but I don't know for sure about that and haven't asked anyone "official." You could probably call and ask them.

We love our guide from DL. She was patient and answered all of our many questions.

On a side note, we are using points to stay at DLH when we go in May and it is not too bad point wise. I am hoping our first stay in WDW will be in the fall of '07. I am hoping they announce a DVC at DL. Although we are not ready to buy an add-on yet, I would love a DVC there! :goodvibes

THANK YOU makayla!!! That is exactly what I thought I read. Did you buy 06 or 05?

I'm wondering if I will be able to combine the current $15 referral incentive with getting free APs????? My understanding is they won't really talk about the "extra" incentives over the phone, but we'll be stopping by the booth this month.

BTW---how many points was DLR?

We bought in 2006. I would definately stop by and ask. If you purchase from Disney you can make ressies almost right away. Depending on when you'll get your points, you could even use them for your trip later to WDW :thumbsup2

I think it was 155 points for a full 7 days in a standard view. If I remember correctly, the points are 19 on Sun-Thurs and 30 on the weekend.

I believe the AP incentive expired 8/30/06. That's what my DVC sales rep told me.

If that one expired, I wonder if they came up with anything new to entice us West Coast people...

I would definately check it out while I was at DL. The AP's are a great incentive and would help save you some money for your upcoming trip :)

Just back from DL! We went to the DVC open house and here's what we were offered:

$50 Disney gift card just for attending an open house.
$101 per point, minimum of 150 points, Dec UY. $10 per point credit or a one-time deposit of points equal to amount purchased. (So, for a 150 point contract you could get the 150 points for $91 points or buy for $101/per point and get 300 points your first year.)
2 premium annual passes for either DL or WDW.

We worked with Nelinda. She was great. I've been through the presentation at WDW and was unimpressed with the salesman there.

Can't thank you enough for the update mom2dzb!!!!!

That is exactly the information I need to make an informed choice. Now I have to crunch the numbers...

Soooooo.....did you buy!?!?!?!?!? :listen: Enquiring minds, you know... :listen:

An offshoot question, for those in the know......can one spouse attend the presentation without the other? Is there child care or play area for the presentation? I'm interested in going when we're there in March but don't think my DH would sit through it, and we'll have the kids with us.

Patti, you're very welcome. I need to crunch the numbers, too. We've got until Wednesday to accept their offer w/ incentives, or so they said. My husband is pretty sold on DVC. I just have to come up with the funds.

I'm not sure about one spouse attending without the other, but I think I remember someone saying it was okay. I didn't have kids with me for this presentation, but it didn't seem like the presentation at WDW where there was a seperate area for the kids. There were toys and books in the presentation room.

Just wanted to be sure you've heard about the other offer---use a current DVC member and receive $15 off per point. If you aren't going to pay full price to get more points, that referral offer is better than $10 off per point.

Check out the DVC boards if you hadn't heard about it.

My understanding with timeshares in general is that both spouses must be present for the presentation. That may not be the case with DVC, but I know it's the case with other companies, so they can close the deal with both signatures that day.

I need the name and hometown of someone who is already a member! I was offered the $10 off incentive, but I'd like to try for the $15 off. PM me if you're willing to help!

Thanks!
