Buying deluxe AP online with gift cards

I am planning on purchasing my first deluxe AP in November! I want to buy online so I can use rewards from our Disney Visa. My next question is, if I start buying $50 gift cards here and there am I able to do multipe gift card transactions when buying it or would it be easier to save up and purchase a $300 gift card to put towards it?
