Buying at multiple resorts

We do plan to buy direct, we think it’s the best option for us at the moment. Are you suggesting 2 100 point contracts at different resorts or 2 contracts at the same resort. Just want to make sure I’m understanding you correctly.

I would add that if you are thinking of 2 resorts (because you love them both), consider using them separately. Use 100-ish points at DVC A for one trip and one reservation. Next trip/reservation, use the 100-ish points at DVC-B. etc. I have yet to use points from 2 different resorts together to make a stay at 7 months; I think if you had to cancel or change and didn't use all your points, it would be too easy to have orphaned points that way.

We own different resorts for 11-month advantage. We travel various times of the year for now (small children) so we do both peak and off-peak travel.

I would echo @kboo in splitting the contracts into smaller pieces. I didn't see it mentioned yet, so I would also add that if your intention would be to combine different resort contracts at 7 months, make sure the Use Year is the same. We have two contracts at BLT (1 resale and 1 direct) and 1 contract at BWV (resale), all Feb UY and we have combined at 7 months for a bigger room and/or premium view.

We own at 2 different resorts - AKV because it’s my son’s favorite (I also like staying there a lot & love watching the animals) and VGF because it’s my favorite. We’ve done split stays, but prefer to stay in one place and alternate years. Last December was AKV, this January will be VGF.

And to follow up - if you plan to use the different resorts also for different times of year, they don't HAVE to be the same UY. We have 2 UYs 6 months apart. Our Feb UY covers February and April breaks and the summer, primarily, and the AUG UY contracts cover summer and Christmas.

I wish I had known to split my points into multiple contracts before we bought our first contract at Aulani. its a 300 point contract. Way too big. I knew better when we bought at Riviera. And now I'm looking to add some points at BLT via resale.
