Buying Annual Pass at the resort/park?

I will be buying into DVC shortly (sent to ROFR 12/21). We already planned a trip in February to check out the DVC resorts before we purchased. But since we're in ROFR I guess our February trip will just have to be for fun!

Anyway our new contract has enough banked points that we will be going twice more this year, once in May, once in December.

Since we're already going in Feb that means we'll be going to WDW in Feb, May, and December. Given this, would you agree that an annual pass is much better than buying week long park tickets? I mean it's much cheaper, right? Like $600 for an annual pass vs $300 for a week pass X three trips = $900.

Can I buy annual passes for my family at Animal Kingdom Lodge when we get there in February or do I need to buy them on-line in advance?

Currently, an annual pass for a DVC Member is $425 plus tax for all ages. They can be purchased at Theme Park Ticket Windows or Guest Relations Locations at Theme Parks or Downtown Disney. The Resorts can not sell APs. You can pre-purchase from DVC, but would still need to go to one of the previously listed locations to pick up the actual passes.

If your closing has occurred before your arrival (and entered into the DVC system) you could get your mambership card at the SSR sales office and then purchase the AP with the DVC discount. If you are not yet in the DVC system you won't get the DVC discount - so you might want to purchase a no-expire Hopper and upgrade that to the AP at a later date to benefit from the DVC discount.

We won't close before we get there in February so we definitely won't be in the system.

The no-expire pass and then upgrade to AP seems like the best option.

Nope, you can only upgrade the no-expire passes within the first 14 days of use. So you may just have to buy MYW tickets for February and then buy the APs in May. Wish I had better options for you.
