I see that a two bedroom unit is available and I have a one bedroom. Is the CM able to hold the two bedroom while I buy the needed points. This is the end of my UY and those 23 points that I buy would be of no use to me if the two bedroom became unavailable.

Thanks.

I don't know that they can hold it but they will ask what you are wanting so if it is not available i would guess that they would not sell you the OTUP

Ok…just need to decide if it’s worth the $400+ !

I tried to do it with a transfer with a friend…that didn’t work, you can’t transfer points you borrow. We are both at the end of our UY’s. During that three way call, she mentioned also that during the time to transfer we could lose the two bedroom.

You can't buy them unless you're using them, right? So it only makes sense (to me) that they would have to hold the room in lieu of completing the purchase.

They cannot hold the room for you while buying OTUP. I just ran into this a few days ago. I called about an available poly studio and needed to buy 11 points. I had to buy the points first and by the time that transaction happened and the cast member went to book the room, the room was gone. They had to refund the points since there wasn’t another room available to book.

I am happy they refunded the money.

The third night was not available when my friend, the owner of the reservation, went to buy the points. We have two nights in the two bedroom, and one night in the one bedroom that was the original reservation. There is a waitlist for the third night, with the one time use points there if needed. I think they put the one time use points into that night, so when a waitlist comes through, they just will use the regular points.

I just checked, and our needed night is now available. I called my friend at work to tell her. I don’t know if she can take a break to call. I hope we get it.

That really makes sense since they can't really reserve it unless you already have the points. It also makes sense that they would refund them since you can't have them unless you need (used) them. Good clarification. Thanks!

Yes it certainly does make sense. Also takes away the worry knowing they will refund the OTUP if they are not able to book the reservation for you.

Shucks, she didn’t call, we still have a waitlist, not the room. My friend now understands you have to help the waitlist!!
