Buying an [add-on] contract with a UY later in the calendar year

At the time of this writing it's March. If I buy an add-on contract direct from Disney with a UY other than Feb or March, what points will I be given?

Am I given (2016) points immediately for use, and then get my 2017 points as usual? If so, do I have to pay the dues/maintenance fees on all of them? If I buy April UY and do in fact get 2016 points, are they automatically banked for me since I'm purchasing so late?

For resorts other than CCV you would receive current 2016 points if the UY is April-December. DVC pro-rates dues for the year from the date you signed the contract. The points would not be banked automatically - you would have to call to do it or possible your guide could get it taken care of.

Just to be technical, though, you can't "add-on" with a different UY month than the one you already have. The new contract will be a completely new membership instead of an add-on.
