Hi all,
We are visiting DL in a few weeks and planning another trip in December. We have looked at buying an annual pass as with our exchange rate at the moment, it works out like for like with buying two 5 day park hoppers. With the 10% discount on merch and dining it works out even better for us.
However, we arrive mid afternoon at LAX and plan to go into the park on that evening. But that day (March 18th) is a blackout day on the Deluxe passport and we are desperate to go into the park that evening, it is a tradition of ours with any Disney park - our flights always arrive late afternoon from the UK and we drop our bags and rush to the castle parks.
I came across the fact that you can buy a one day ticket and then upgrade it to an annual pass so we could get into the park on that March 18th. I just wanted to check I was right in thinking that we will arrive at Disneyland at around 6pm, buy a 1 day ticket for 2 adults so it comes to $210 and then in the park say we want to upgrade to an annual pass and get the $210 taken off the $1198 that it would cost us for the annual pass?
However, with the prices expected to go up soon I am a little worried it may work out more expensive for us. Could I buy the 1 day tickets now for us and upgrade in the park still? Therefore I would get the 1 day tickets at the current cost and then the annual pass at their increased price? I know it's like asking how long is a piece of string but does anyone have any indication of how much the AP's could potentially go up by?
Sorry for the lengthy word dump up there and all the questions!
